Installation Location • We recommend that this air conditioner be installed properly by qualified installation technicians in accordance with the Installation Instructions provided with the unit. • Before installation, check that the voltage of the electric supply in your home or office is the same as the voltage shown on the nameplate.
Names of Parts NOTE This illustration is based on the external appearance of a standard model. Consequently , the shape may differ from that of the air conditioner which you have selected. This air conditioner consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit.

Using the Remote Control Unit How to Install Batteries NOTE • The batteries last about six months, depending on how much you use the remote control unit. Replace the batteries when the remote control unit ’ s displa y fail s t o indicate , o r whe n th e remot e contro l canno t b e used t o chang e th e ai r conditioner ’ s settings.

Set the FAN SPEED selector button to the setting you want. If the fan speed is set to (Automatic), the fan speed switches automatically, according to the difference between the actual room temperature and the temperature setting. Operation with the Remote Control Unit 1.
Operation with the Remote Control Unit (continued) NOTE • This appliance has a built-in three minutes time delay circuit to ensure reliable operation. When the operation button is pressed, the compressor will start running within three minutes. In the event of power failure, the unit will stop.
Operation with the Remote Control Unit (continued) 3. Night Setback Mode The Night Setback Mode is used for saving energy . Press the NIGHT SETBACK button while the air conditioner is operating. The mark appears in the display . T o cancel the night setback function, press the NIGHT SETBACK button again.

18 OI- 508 - 1 8 E G S et ting the 1 -Hour OFF T imer 1 . 1 -Hour OFF Timer This function causes the unit t o operat e for one hour and then st op, r egar dless of whether the unit is on or of f when this butt on is pr essed. The indicator in the display indicates that this function is operating.
19 OI- 508 - 1 9 E G Adjusting the Airflow Direction 1 . Hor izontal The horiz ontal airflow can be adjusted by moving the ver tical vanes with your hands to the lef t or right. CA UTION When the humidity is high, the ver tical v anes should be in the fr ont position dur ing the cooling or drying operation.
20 OI- 508 -20 E G Operation without the R emote Control Unit If you have lost the remote control unit or it has trouble, follow the steps below . 1. When the air conditioner is not running If you want to turn on the air conditioner , switc h the operation selector to the OFF position, and then to the ON position.
21 OI- 508 -21 E G 1. With the ˝FRON T˝ mark facing you, slide the anti-mold filter up into the unit and then lower the handle into the groove on the unit. 2. After installing the anti-mold filter , press the locations marked by the arrows ( ) and close the air intake grille.
