1. Wipe the rubber seal on the pen body with an alcohol s wab. 2. Remo ve the pr otectiv e seal from a new ne ed l e. Th e La n tu s ® S ol oS t ar ® pe n w o rk s with Becton Dickinson (BD ) Ultr a-Fine™ needles. Use a sterile ne w needle for each injection to pr ev ent contamination and block ed needles.
4. Hold the pen with the needle pointing upw ard. 5. T ap the insulin reserv oir to mak e any air bubbles rise up to war d the needle. 6. Press the injection butt on all the wa y in. Check to see if insulin c omes out of the needle tip. If insulin does not come out, repeat the t est until it does.
