SER VICING OF DOUBLE-INSULA TED APPLIANCES A double-insulated appliance is marked with one or more of the fo llowing: The w ords “DOUBLE INSULA TION” or “DOUBLE INSULA TED” or the double insulation symbol (square within a square). In a double-insulated appliance, tw o systems of insulation are pro vided instead of gr ounding.
1. Cord Retainer . T o use, push electrical cord down into cord retainer . 2. ON/OFF Switch . Inter national symbol I means On, International symbol O means Off . 3. Bag Compartment Latch. Pull up on latch to remov e bag compar tment door giving access to the dust bag and motor filter .

1. T o use accessor ies remov e hose from rear of cleaner b y lifting up and twisting. 2. Place desired accessory onto end of hose or wand. HO W T O USE 1. Handle Release . Step on handle release to pull handle back to a comf or table oper ating position.
R OUTINE MAINTENANCE The instructions in this booklet ser ve as a guide to routine maintenance. T o avoid unnecessary ser vice calls, check the filters, belt, and brush roll often. N O T E : When vacuuming carpet freshener s or cleaners, powder , plaster dust, or similar fine substances, the filters will require more frequent maintenance.
R OUTINE MAINTENANCE (continued) Pre-Motor Filter Pre-Motor Filter Check the pre-motor filter each time the dust bag is changed. Clean or replace as needed. T o Clean Pre-Motor Filter 1 . Remo v e filter centered in the bottom of the bag compar tment.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE (CONTINUED) 10 Brush Roll The brush roll tur ns as it sw eeps and combs the car pet nap . Remove hair and threads from the brush roll so it continues brushing the car pet. T o maintain the most efficient cleaning, the bristles must touch the car pet.
5. Locate low er hose adapter on the back of the cleaner . 6. Remove lo wer hose adapter from rear of cleaner b y lifting up and twisting. 7. Check f or bloc kages in the hose and base hose. Fle xing the hose ma y help loosen any b lockage . If no blockage is found, continue to step 8.
NO TE: T urn off the switch and unplug the electrical cord bef ore servicing. Motor will not star t. Push plug securely into outlet. T r y another outlet. Check circuit break er .
