8 Getting started Step 1. Inspect pa ckage to insure that all parts & acce ssorie s are included. Step 2. Find a proper location for your new HDT -1/HDT -1X HD Ra dio Tuner following the guidelines on table 1.1. Step 3. Connect the included or other external FM a ntenn a to Figure 2, #13.
9 Navigating the Display There are ma ny display functions . This will help you understa nd what the display is telling you, making navigation a nd setup ea sier.
10 Setting up a nd Progra mming your HDT -1/HDT -1X Setting the clock Clock setting can be done when the tuner is in Standby (power off) 1. Press and hold “INFO” button for approx. 2 seconds until display flashes “clock set “to enter Clock Set mode.
11 Radio Controls T o turn the radio on, press the Sta ndby button. Pressing the Standby button again will put the unit into standby . In sta ndby , the tuner will display the time, dim the ba cklight and sta ndby LED will be on. Selecting the ra dio ba nd Press the BAND button to select the a ppropriate ba nd .
12 Ma nual T uning Press the TUNING rocker switch UP or DOW N to tune up or down to select a radio station. Tuning step per press for AM band is 10 kHz a nd 100 kHz for FM ba nd. Direct T uning By using numbered key pad, you ca n directly tune to a radio station.
13 Rece iving HD radio station s When the radio is tuned to a station broadca sting HD radio signal, the LCD will display a blinking “HD “logo. Once the tuner a cquires the HD ra dio signal, the “HD” logo will stay on and a Signal Strength indication will a ppear in the top right hand corner .
14 Seek Function T o seek to a nother clear station, use the SEEK toggle button. Press a nd relea se the SEEK UP or DOW N will go to the next availa ble station with good signal.
15 Recall preset stations T o recall preset stations, sele ct required ba nd by pressing BAND selection button. Press PRESET button to enter PRESET recall mode. Display will show “GO TO PRESET”. Then followed by using one of the following methods to recall the stations.
