8 3. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card socket, as shown, so that the card locks into position. Make sure the gold co lored contacts of the card face into the phone. 4. Selecting Functions and Options Y our phone offers a set of functions that allow you to customiz e it. These functions are arranged in menus and sub -menus, a ccessed using the two soft keys.

22 Switch Key The Switch key allows you to se lect preset menu i tems. 1. Press the key . Note : This key can be used in any menu. 2. The following menu items ap pear in the option bar: • Call : select to access a blank call screen. Enter the number yo u want to call and press the key .

28 Answering a Call When someone calls you, the phone rings and displays the incoming c all imag e. The caller’ s phone numb er , or name if st ored in Address Book, displays. 1. If necessary , open the phone. Press the key or the Accept soft k ey to answer the inco ming call.
Section 3: Cal l Functions 29 Switching Between T wo Calls When you have an active call and a call on h old, you may switch between the tw o calls, changing the one on hold to ac tive and placing th e other on hold. 1. T o switc h between the two calls, press the Options soft key .

32 Missed Ca lls This menu lets you view the 30 most recent calls you received, but did not answer . The number and n ame, if already s tored in your Address Book, displays with the time and date the call was received. Calls Made This menu lets you view the 30 mo st recent calls you dialed.
Section 3: Cal l Functions 33 • T otal Received : shows the to tal length of all calls you have received since the timer was last r eset. • To t a l T i m e : shows the total length of time for incoming and outgoing calls. • Reset Timers : allo ws you to reset the call timers.

72 Outbox This message box is us ed to store messa ges regardless of whether the message was successfully transmitted or if an error occurred duri ng transmission. Drafts This message box is used to store SMS mess ages or Multimedia messages tha t you have sent or will send later .
