Note: When you activate the Auto redi al option in the Extr a settings menu, the phone will aut omaticall y redial up to 10 times when the person do es not answer the call or is alread y on the phone.

The number of c alls you have missed dis plays on the idle scr een immediately after a call is missed.

30 Section 3 Putting a Call on Hold Y ou can place the curr ent call on hold whenever you want. Y ou can make another call while you have a call in pr ogr ess if your network supports this service. T o place a call on hold, simply pr ess the Options soft key then press the Select soft key .

Example: Y ou wish to say som ethin g to a pers on in the room b ut do not want the person on the phone to hear you.

If the Mut e keys option is selected, your phone does not transmit the DTMF (Dual T one Multi-Fr equency) tones of the keys, which allows you to pr ess keys with out hearing annoyi ng key ton es during a call.

Section 7: Me ssaging 85 Settings Section 7 When you select Uni-code, th e maxi mu m number of characters which can be in a message is reduced to appr oximately half. If your r eci pient’s phone does not support Uni-code charact ers, he/she may not be able to r e a d your me ssage co r r ec tly .
86 Section 7 Memor y Status Y ou can check t he amount of the memory being used and the memory r emaining for text messages and pic ture messa ges. The display shows the total spa ce including the used and free space. Y o u can also view how much space is currently occupied by ea ch me ssage box.
