Getting Started 9 Charging a Battery 3. With the battery in position on th e phone, place the co ver back on the handset and slide it in until it c licks. Charging a Batter y Y our phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion batter y . Use the travel adaptor to charge the batter y , and use only Sams ung approved batteries and chargers.

20 Selecting Functions and Options Y our phone offers a set of functions that can be cust omized for your ease and specific needs. These func tions are arranged in menus and sub-menus, accessed using the two soft keys. Each men u and sub- menu allows you to view and alter the settings of a particular fun ction.

The current call (#2) is placed on hold and th e previous call on hold (#1 ) is reactivated so that you can continue conversi ng with that person.

48 Finding an Address Boo k Entr y Y ou can store phone numbers and their corres ponding names onto your SIM card and phone’ s onboard memor y . They are physic all y separate but are used as a single entity , called the Addres s Book.

62 - Add Graphic : allows you to add a taken a photo, add from My Photos, or a downloaded image to the message. - Add Vid eo : allows you to add a recorded video, add from My Video Clips, or a downloaded video to the message. - Previe w : allows you to preview your messages before sending.

Therefore you need to retrieve new messages to your phone and read them on the phone.

74 Silent Mode This menu item allows you to select what mode your phone wi ll go in when y ou press and hol d the key , or use t he Down key on the volume unti l volume is 0. Y ou can choose Vibration or Mute. When V ibrati on is selected your phone will only vibrate.

76 Set Time & Date This menu allows you to change the curren t time and date displa yed. Y ou can also find out what time it is in another part of the world. Note: Before setting th e time, you must specify you r time zone in the World time menu. 1.

78 Security The Securit y feature en ables you to re strict the use of your p hone by the others and to restrict the types of calls. Various codes and p asswords are used to prot ect the fea tures of your phone. 1. In Idle mode, press the Menu soft key to access Menu mode.

80 Change PIN Code This feature allows yo u to change you r current PIN, p rovided th at the PIN Check feature is enabled. Y ou must enter the cu rrent PIN before you can specify a new on e. Once you ha ve entered a new PIN , you are asked t o confirm it by entering it again.

USB Settings Y our phone can connect to a PC via th e USB cable (sold separately). The USB Settings allow your phone to be configured to launch a d efault application when an active USB connect ion is detected.

100 Using Playlists Playlists are used to assign songs to a list of prefe rred media which can then be grouped into a list for la ter playback. These Play lists can be crea ted via ei ther the handset’ s Music Player options menu or fr om within a 3rd-party music application (such as Windows Media Player) and then downloaded to the handset.
