▶ ❑ Using the INFO button (Now & Next guide) The display identifies the curr ent channel and the status of certain audio-video settings. The Now & Next guide shows daily TV pr ogramme information for each channel accor ding to the br oadcasting time.
◀ ▶ ❑ Using Channel menu O MENU m → Support → Contents Home → ENTER E Pr ess the CONTENT button to select the desir ed menu. Each scr een will be displayed. ■ Channel List Y ou can view channel information, All, TV , Radio, Data/Other , Analogue or Favourites 1 - 5 .
◀ ▶ ● All : Shows all curr ently available channels. ● TV : Shows all curr ently available TV channels. ● Radio : Shows all curr ently available radio channels. ● Data/Other : Shows all curr ently available MHP or other channels. ● Analogue : Shows all curr ently available analogue channels.
◀ ▶ N Using the contr ol buttons with the Channel List . ● T ( T ools ): Displays the option menu. ● L ( Ch. Mode / Channel ): Move to the All, TV , Radio, Data/Other , Analogue or Favourites 1 - 5 . N When you select the Pr ogramme View in T ( T ools ) menu, you can move to other channels using L ( Channel ) button.
◀ ▶ How to use Schedule Viewing in Channel List (digital channels only) When you set the Schedule Viewing in Channel List , you can only set the pr ogramme in Pr ogramme View . 1. Pr ess the CH LIST button, then select a desir ed digital channel. 2.
◀ ▶ Using Option Menu t Set each channel using the Channel List menu options ( Pr ogramme View , Edit Favourites, Lock/Unlock, Edit Channel Name, Edit Channel Number , Delete, Information, Sort, Edit Mode ). Option menu items may dif fer depending on the channel status.
◀ ▶ ● Pr ogramme View : Displays the programme when digital channel is selected. ● Edit Favourites : Set channels you watch fr equently as favourites. Add or delete the selected channel in Favourites 1 - 5 . 1. Select the Edit Favourites , then pr ess the ENTER E button.
◀ ▶ ● Lock/Unlock : Lock a channel so that the channel cannot be selected and viewed. N This function is available only when the Channel Lock is set to On . N The PIN input scr een appears. Enter your 4-digit PIN. Change the PIN using the Change PIN option.
◀ ▶ ● Edit Channel Number : Edit the number by pr essing the number buttons desir ed. N Some ar ea may not be able to support Edit Channel Name and Edit Channel Number function. ● Delete : Y ou can delete a channel to display the channels you want.
◀ ▶ ● Edit Mode : Y ou can select desir ed channels and edit it. Using Option Menu t Set each channel using the menu options ( Edit Favourites, Lock/Unlock, Delete, Deselect, Select All ). 1. Pr ess the TOOLS button in Channel List scr een, then select the Edit Mode .
◀ ▶ ● Edit Favourites : Set the selected channels you watch fr equently as favourites. N The Edit Favourites scr een has five gr oups ( Favourites 1 , Favourites 2 , etc.). Y ou can add a favourite channel to any one of the gr oups. Pr ess the ▲/▼ buttons to select a gr oup.
◀ ▶ ■ Guide The EPG (Ele ctr onic Pr ogramme Guide) information is pr ovided by br oadcasters. Using pr ogramme schedules pr ovided by br oadcasters, you can specify pr ogrammes you want to watch in advance so that the channel automatically changes to the selected pr ogramme channel at the specified time.
◀ ▶ 1 a Red ( Sche. Mgr ): Moves to the r eserved pr ogrammes in Sche. Mgr . 2 b Gr een ( -24 Hours ): Viewing the list of pr ogrammes to be br oadcasted befor e 24 hours. 3 { Y ellow ( +24 Hours ): Viewing the list of programmes to be br oadcasted after 24 hours.

◀ ▶ ■ Schedule Manager Y ou can set a desir ed channel to be displayed automatically at the intended time. In addition, you can view , modify or delete a channel you have r eserved to watch.
◀ ▶ ● Repeat : Select Once, Manual, Sat~Sun, Mon~Fri or Everyday to set at your convenience. If you select Manual , you can set the day you want. N The ( c ) mark indicates the day you’ve selected. ● Date : Y ou can set the desir ed date. N It is available when you select Once in Repeat .

◀ ▶ ■ Backlight for LED TV / Cell Light for PDP TV / Contrast / Brightness / Sharpness / Colour / Tint (G/R) Y our television has several setting options for pictur e quality contr ol. N NOTE ● In analogue TV , A V modes of the P AL system, the Tint (G/R) function is not available.
◀ ▶ ■ Scr een Adjustment O MENU m → Pictur e → Scr een Adjustment → ENTER E Set the various pictur e options such as pictur e size and aspect ratio. ● Pictur e Size : Y our cable box/satellite r eceiver may have its own set of scr een sizes as well.
◀ ▶ 4:3 : Sets the pictur e to basic (4:3) mode. N Do not watch in 4:3 format for a long time. T races of bor ders displayed on the left, right and centr e of the scr een may cause image r etention (scr een bur n) which ar e not covered by the warranty.

N NOTE ● After selecting Scr een Fit in HDMI (1080i / 1080p) or Component (1080i / 1080p) mode, you may need to centr e the pictur e: 1.
◀ ▶ ● Depending on the input sour ce, the pictur e size options may vary. ● If you want to r eset the position you adjusted, select Reset in the Position scr een. The pictur e will be set to its default position. ● The available items may dif fer depending on the selected mode.
◀ ▶ ● PC Scr een Adjustment for LED 4 series 19", 5 series 22" N It is available in PC mode. Coarse / Fine : Removes or r educes pictur e noise. If the noise is not r emoved by Fine-tuning alone, then adjust the fr equency as best as possible ( Coarse ) and Fine-tune again.
◀ ▶ ■ Auto Adjustment t for LED 4 series 19", 5 series 22" O MENU m → Pictur e → Auto Adjustment → ENTER E Adjust fr equency values/positions and fine tune the settings automatically. N It is available in PC mode. N Not available when connecting with an HDMI/DVI cable.

◀ ▶ ❑ Changing the Pictur e Options ■ Advanced Settings O MENU m → Pictur e → Advanced Settings → ENTER E (available in Standar d / Movie mode) Y ou can adjust the detailed setting for the scr een including colour and contrast. N When connecting a PC, you can only make changes to Gamma and White Balance .
◀ ▶ ● Dyn am ic C ont ra st (O f f / Lo w / M ed iu m / High) : Adjust the scr een contrast. ● Black T one (Of f / Dark / Darker / Darkest) : Select the black level to adjust the scr een depth.
◀ ▶ ● Colour Space (Auto / Native / Custom for LED 6 series ) : Adjust the range of colours available to cr eate the image. N T o adjust Colour , Red, Gr een, Blue and Reset , set Colour Space to Custom . for LED 6 series ● White Balance : Adjust the colour temperatur e for a mor e natural pictur e.
◀ ▶ ● 10p White Balance (Of f / On) for LED 6 series : Contr ols the white balance in 10 point interval by adjusting the r ed, gr een, and blue brightness. N A vailable when the pictur e mode is set to Movie and when the external input is set to all input.
◀ ▶ ● Expert Patter n (Of f / Pattern1 / Patter n2) for LED 6 series : By running the Expert Patter n function, the pictur e can be calibrated without a generator or filter . If the OSD menu disappears or a menu other than the Pictur e menu is opened, the calibration is saved and the Expert Patter n window disappears.
◀ ▶ ● Motion Lighting (Of f / On) : Reduce power consumption by brightness contr ol adapted motion. N This function is not supported in 3D mode. for PDP 490 series N Only available in Standar d mode. N When changing a setting value of Backlight for LED / Cell Light for PDP TV , Brightness or Contrast , Motion Lighting will be set to Of f .
◀ ▶ ■ Pictur e Options O MENU m → Pictur e → Pictur e Options → ENTER E N When connecting a PC, you can only make changes to the Colour T one . ● Colour T one (Cool / Standar d / W arm1 / W arm2) N W arm1 or W arm2 will be deactivated when the pictur e mode is Dynamic .
◀ ▶ ● Digit al Noi se Fil ter ( Of f / Low / Med ium / High / Aut o / A uto Visual isati on) : If the br oadcast signal r eceived by your TV is weak, you can activate the Digital Noise Filter featur e to re duce any stati c and ghosting that may app ear on the scr een.
◀ ▶ ● MPEG Noise Filter (Of f / Low / Medium / High / Auto) : Reduces MPEG noise to pr ovide impr oved pictur e quality. ● HDMI Black Level (Low / Normal) : Selects the black level on the scr een to adjust the scr een depth. N A vailable only in HDMI mode (RGB signals).

Reset : Reset the custom settings. ● LED Motion Plus (Of f / On) for LED 5, 6 series : Removes drag fr om fast scenes with a lot of movement to pr ovide a clear pictur e.

◀ ▶ ■ Additional Settings O MENU m → Sound → Additional Settings → ENTER E ● DTV Audio Level (MPEG / HE-AAC) (digital channels only): This function allows you to r educe the disparity of a voice signal (which is one of the signals r eceived during a digital TV br oadcast) to a desir ed level.
◀ ▶ ● SPDIF Output for LED, PDP TV : SPDIF (Sony Philips Digital InterFace) is used to pr ovide digital sound, r educing interfer ence going to speakers and various digital devices such as a DVD player . Audio Format : Y ou can select the Digital Audio output (SPDIF) format.
◀ ▶ ● Dolby Digital Comp (Line / RF) : This function minimizes signal disparity between a dolby digital signal and a voice signal (i.e. MPEG Audio, HE-AAC, A TV Sound). N Select Line to obtain dynamic sound, and RF to r educe the dif fer ence between loud and soft sounds at night time.
◀ ▶ ■ Speaker Settings O MENU m → Sound → Speaker Settings → ENTER E ● Speaker Select (Exter nal Speaker / TV Speaker) for LED, PDP TV A sound echo may occur due to a dif fer ence in decoding speed between the main speaker and the audio r eceiver .
◀ ▶ ● Auto V olume (Off / Normal / Night) T o equalize the volume level on each channel, set to Normal . Night : This mode pr ovides an impr oved sound experience compar ed to Normal mode, making almost no noise.
◀ ▶ ■ Reset Sound (Y es / No) O MENU m → Sound → Reset Sound → ENTER E Reset all sound settings to the factory defaults. English.

◀ ▶ ● Y ou can attach your TV to your LAN by connecting the LAN port on the back of your TV to an exter nal modem using a LAN cable. See the diagram below .
◀ ▶ ● Y ou can attach your TV to your LAN by connecting the LAN port on the back of your TV to a IP Shar er which is connected to an exter nal modem.
◀ ▶ ● Depending on how your network is configur ed, you may be able to attach your TV to your LAN by connecting the LAN port on the back of your TV dir ectly to a network wall outlet using a LAN cable. See the diagram below . Note that the wall outlet is attached to a modem or r outer elsewher e in your house.
◀ ▶ ● If your network r equir es a Dynamic IP addr ess, you should use an ADSL modem or r outer that supports Dynamic Host Configuration Pr otocol (DHCP).
◀ ▶ ■ Wir eless Network Connection for PDP 490 series, 450, 530 series(except Singapor e) and LED 4, 5, 6 series(except Singapor e) T o connect your TV to your network wir eless, you need a wir eless r outer or modem and a Samsung W ir eless LAN Adapter (WIS12ABGNX, WIS09ABGNX), which you connect to your TV’ s back or side panel USB port.
◀ ▶ Samsung’ s W ir eless LAN adapter is sold separately and is of fer ed by select r etailers and Ecommer ce sites. Samsung’ s W ir eless LAN adapter supports the IEEE 802.11a/b/g and n communication pr otocols. Samsung r ecommends using IEEE 802.
◀ ▶ ● T o use a wir eless network, your TV must be connected to a wir eless IP shar er (either a r outer or a modem). If the wir eless IP sharer supports DHCP , your TV can use a DHCP or static IP addr ess to connect to the wir eless network. ● Select a chan nel for the wi r eless IP shar er th at is not curr ently being used.
◀ ▶ ● If HIGH PURE THROUGHPUT (Gr eenfield) 802.11n mode is selected and the Encryption type is set to WEP or TKIP for your wir eless r outer , Samsung TVs will not support a connection in compliance with new W i-Fi certification specifications.
◀ ▶ ● If your r outer , modem, or device is not certified, it may not connect to the TV via the “Samsung W ir eless LAN Adapter”. ● Ensur e the TV is tur ned of f before you connect the Samsung W ir eless LAN Adapter . ● Connection Methods: Y ou can setup the wir eless network connection like below .
◀ ▶ Notice The pictur e may appear corrupted or have static for some channels when the TV is connected to the Samsung W ir eless LAN Adapter . In such a case, establish a connection using one of the following methods or connect the Samsung W ir eless LAN Adapter using a USB cable in a place that is not af fected by radio interfer ence.

◀ ▶ If Y our TV Fails to Connect to the Inter net Y our TV may not be able to connect to the Inter net because your ISP has permanently r egister ed the MAC addr ess (a unique identifying number) of your PC or modem, which it then authenticates each time you connect to the Inter net as a way of pr eventing unauthorized access.

Using this function, you can connect wir eless mobile devices with your TV dir ectly without a wir eless router .
◀ ▶ How to connect the device to your TV using Wi-Fi Dir ect function 1. Go to Wi-Fi Dir ect scr een. The TV starts to sear ch devices. 2. T ur n on the W i-Fi Dir ect function on your device. Select the desir ed device, and then pr ess the ENTER E button.
◀ ▶ ■ AllShar e Settings O MENU m → Network → AllShar e Settings → ENTER E Set whether to allow a network connected device like a smartphone or tablet to shar e content or contr ol TV using an application downloaded on your mobile device. ◀ ▶ ❑ Setting the Time ■ Time O MENU m → System → Time → ENTER E The curr ent time will appear every time you pr ess the INFO button. ● Clock : Setting the clock is for using various timer featur es of the TV . N If you disconnect the power cor d, you have to set the clock again.
◀ ▶ – Manual : Set the curr ent time manually. N Depending on the br oadcast station and signal, the auto time set up may not be corr ect. In this case, set the time manually. Clock Set : Set the Date and Time . N A vailable only when Clock Mode is set to Manual .
