2 .3 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 I NST ALLA TION Cable with a Cable box that Descrambles All Channels 1 Find the cable that is connected to the ANTENNA OUT terminal on your cable box. This terminal might be labeled “ANT OUT”, “VHF OUT”, or simply , “OUT”.

2 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 .6 I NST ALLA TION Connecting a Camcorder The front panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a camcor der to your TV . They allow you to view the camcorder tapes without using a VCR. (Also see “Selecting a Signal Sour ce (External A/V)” on page 3.

2 C HAPTER T WO : I NSTALLA TION 2 .8 Connecting a DTV Set-T op Box (480p, 1080i) When switching to the DTV mode, either 480p or 1080i format is automatically selected according to the input signal.

3 .4 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION O PERA TION Adjusting Manual Convergence If the color appears spread out or “smeared” on the scr een, the convergence pr obably needs alignment. Be sure to use the remote contr ol for the conver gence adjustments.

3 .10 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION O PERA TION Changing Channels Using the Channel Buttons Press the CH or CH button to change channels. When you press CH or CH , the TV changes channels in sequence. Y ou will see all the chan- nels that the TV has memorized.
C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION 3 .11 O PERA TION Selecting Y our Favorite Channels Y ou can store up to ten of your favorite channels for each available input sour ce (such as TV and CA TV).
3 .12 C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION O PERA TION Setting the Blue Screen Mode If no signal is being received or the signal is very weak, a blue screen automatically r eplaces the noisy picture backgr ound. If you wish to continue viewing the poor pic- ture, you must set the “Blue screen” mode to “Of f”.
C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION 3 .13 O PERA TION Labeling the Channels Use this feature to assign an easy-to-remember label to any channel (i.e., “CBS”, “ESPN”, “PBS2”, CNN1”, etc.) A label consists of four fields, where each field is a letter , a num- ber , “*”, or a blank.

Picture Control Y ou can use the on-screen menus to change the contrast, brightness, tint, color , and sharpness according to personal pr eference.
C HAPTER T HREE : TV O PERA TION 3 .15 O PERA TION Using Automatic Picture Settings Yo ur TV has two automatic pictur e settings (“Standard”, “Dynamic” and “Mild”) that ar e pre- set at the factory . Y ou can activate either Standard, Dynamic or Mild by pressing P .

The user must first enter a PIN (personal ID number) before any of the V -Chip r estrictions can be set up or changed.
