40 _ Copying CHANGING THE SCAN SIZE SETTINGS You can adjust the scan size for the or iginal paper. For e xample, if you scan a A4-sized original a nd set the scan size to A5, the machin e scans only the area of A5 (148 x 210 mm). We recommend you to change the right scan size for the origi nal paper.
Copying _4 1 Poster copying Your machine can print an image onto 9 sheets of paper (3x3). You can paste the printed pages together to make one poster-sized document. This copy feature is available only when you pla ce originals on the scanner glass. 1.

66 _ Maintenance Redistributing toner When a toner is lo w, faded or l ight areas may appear. It is possible that colored images ma y be printed with incorrect col ors due to flawed mixing of toner colors when one of the colored toner cartridges is low o n toner.
Maintenance _6 7 4. Slide the toner cartridge back into the machine. 5. Close the front cover. Make sure the cover is securely latched. REPLACING THE TONER CARTRIDGE The machine uses four colors and has a different toner cartridge fo r each one: yellow (Y), ma genta (M), cyan (C), and black (K).
68 _ Maintenance 5. Holding both handles on th e toner cartridge, thoroughly rock it fro m side to side to evenly distribute the toner. 6. Place the toner cartridge on a flat surface, as shown, and remove the paper covering the toner cartridge by removing the ta pe.
Maintenance _6 9 4. Take a new paper transfer belt out of its package. 5. Holding the handle on the new paper tran sfer belt, align it with the slots on the inside of the front cover. 6. Lower the paper transfer belt until it is para llel with the front cover and firmly seated.

Troubleshooting _7 7 7. Close the rear cover. In the optional tray If paper is jammed in the optional T ray, follow the next steps to release the jammed paper. 1. Pull the optional Tray open. After you pull it all the way out, lift up the front part of the tray slightly to release the tray from the machine.
