System Featur es • Optimized for use in videography applications, the VM1 system is highly customizable, combining a VHF “ walkaround ” receiver with your choice of Samson VHF TD Series beltpack or handheld microphone transmitters.
5 Guided T our - VM1 1: A/B Antenna LEDs - When signal is being received, one of these will be lit orange, showing you whether the (left) “ A ” or (right) “ B ” antenna is currently being used. The VM1 constantly scans its two antennas and automatically selects whichever is receiv- ing the strongest, clearest signal.
6 Guided T our - VM1 9: DC input - This jack will accept a DC input voltage of 11 - 14 volts (inner connection [tip] positive, outer connection [sleeve] ground) from your video camera, if available. Connect the optional Samson AC300R adapter here to charge a rechargeable 9-volt Ni-Cad battery.
7 Guided T our - VT3L 1: Input connector - The input device is connected here. The VT3L is supplied with either a lavalier or headset microphone (connected via a Switchcraft mini-XLR jack). A wiring chart showing the connections to popular lavalier and headset microphones can be found on page 41 of this manual.
8 Guided T our - VT3L 5: Power on-off switch* - Use this to turn the VT3Lon or off (to conserve battery power, be sure to leave it off when not in use).
9 Guided T our - VH3 1: Audio on-off switch - When set to the “ on ” position, audio signal is transmitted. When set to the “ off ” position, the audio signal is muted. Because the carrier signal remains during muting, no “ pop ” or “ thud ” will be heard.
10 Setting Up and Using Y our VM1 System The basic procedure for setting up and using your VM1 Wireless System takes only a few minutes: 1. For the VM1 system to work correctly, both the receiver and transmitter must be set to the same channel.
11 Setting Up and Using Y our VM1 System 8. Turn on the power to the VT3L or VH3 transmitter; all three Battery meter LEDs will light if the battery is sufficiently strong. At this point, either the “ A ” or “ B ” orange LED on the front of the VM1 will light (depending upon which antenna is receiving the stronger signal).
12 Setting Up and Using Y our VM1 System 13. Conversely, if you hear a weak, noisy signal at the desired volume level, again make sure that the gain structure of your audio system is correctly set (consult the owners manual of your mixer and/or amplifier for details).

15 Visite guid é e - VM1 1 : LED des antennes A/B - Lors de la r é ception du signal, l ’ une de ces LED s ’ allume en orange, indiquant le antenne actuellement utilis é ( “ A ” (gauche) ou “ B ” (droite)).

17 Visite guid é e - VT3L 1 : Connecteur d ’ entr é e - L ’ appareil d ’ entr é e doit ê tre connect é ici. Le VT3L est fourni soit avec un microphone cravate ou avec un microphone sur serre-t ê te (reli é à l ’ aide d ’ un connecteur mini-XLR Switchcraft).
18 Visite guid é e - VT3L 5 : Interrupteur d ’ alimentation On-Off * - Utilisez cet interrupteur pour mettre le VT3L sous ou hors tension (pour é conomiser la puissance de la pile, assurez-vous de le mettre hors tension lorsqu ’ il n ’ est pas utilis é ).
19 Visite guid é e - VH3 1 : Commutateur Audio On-Off - Lorsqu ’ il est en position “ On ” , un signal audio est transmis. Lorsqu ’ il est en position Off, le signal audio est coup é . Comme la porteuse reste activ é e pendant la coupure, vous n ’ entendrez aucun “ pop ” ni autre bruit parasite.

Afin que le syst è me VM1 fonctionne correctement, le r é cepteur et l ’é metteur doivent ê tre r é gl é s sur le m ê me canal.

25 Bedienelemente - VM1 1: A/B Antennen LEDs - Wenn ein Signal empfan- gen wird, leuchtet eine dieser beiden LEDs orange auf und zeigt somit an, welche der beiden Antennen A (links) und B (rechts) gerade verwendet wird. Der VM1 pr ü ft das Empfangssignal kontinuirlich und w ä hlt automatisch das st ä rkere und damit klarere Empfangssignal aus.

35 Recor rido guiado: VM1 1: Pilotos de antena A/B - Cuando se est á recibiendo se ñ al, uno de estos pilotos se ilumina en naranja, indicando que se est á utilizando en ese momento bien la antena “ A ” (izquierda) o la “ B ” (derecha).
36 Recor rido guiado: VM1 9: Entrada DC - Este conector acepta un voltaje DC de entrada de 11 - 14 voltios (conexi ó n interior [punta] positivo, conexi ó n exterior [lateral] masa) desde su c á mara de v í deo, cuando esto es disponible.
37 Recor rido guiado - VT3L 1: Conector de entrada - Aqu í se conecta la unidad de entrada. El VT3L viene con un micr ó fono lavalier o de diadema (conectado a trav é s de un conector jack XLR mini de tipo Switchcraft).

41 Ajuste y utilizaci ó n de su sistema VM1 8. Encienda el transmisor VT3L o VH3; el piloto verde “ HIGH ” de carga de pila se iluminar á si la pila est á suficientemente cargada.
