5 ENGLISH 5 F ron t and Rear P anel Lay out FRONT P ANEL 1 MIC/LINE – Combination Input connector for Lo w-Noise Microphone pre-amp and Line level inputs. 2 GAIN – Used to set the input level of the mic pre and line input. 3 CLIP – Red LED will illuminate indicating when the mic GAIN has been adjusted too high.

7 ENGLISH BALANCE (Stereo Inputs Only) The MDR6’ s BALANCE contr ol is used to place or position a mono input into the ster eo main Left and Right MIX bus. F or a stereo input, the bal - ance contr ol is used to center the sound between the Left and Right Mix bus.
8 ENGLISH 2TK LEVEL The 2TK LE VEL control is used to adjust the amount of sig nal that is sent from the 2T IN jacks to the main L/R Mix bus. F or more inf ormation see the following section "Mixing a 2-track with the Stereo MIX" .
9 ENGLISH C/ROOM + PHONES The C/ROOM + PHONES control is used to set the level sent t o the control room outputs , and also to the head - phone jack. +48V - Phantom P ower LED The +48V LED illuminates indicating tha t the 48 volt phantom pow er is applied to the microphone pre-amps enabling use with condenser microphones .
10 ENGLISH Line Lev el Input - Mono Input Channels Use these inputs to connect synthesizers, drum machines, eff ec ts pr ocessors or any line-level signal. The LINE inputs have a nominal opera ting level of -40dB through - 10dB. TRS phone jacks (located in the center of the Combination connector).
11 ENGLISH A UX RETURN LEFT/RIGHT The AUX RETURN LEFT/RIGHT are stereo inputs tha t are generally used to connect the outputs of an effects proces- sor , but can also accept the signal from any line lev el source like a keyboard , recorder and ev en another mixer .
12 ENGLISH Opera ting the MDR6 USING AN EXTERNAL EFFECT If you want to use an external device for eff ects processing, you can easily connect the unit using the MDR6 AUX bus . Follo w the simple steps below to int er face your pr ocessor: 1. S et the L/R mix faders to the "0" position.
