3 D2500 F eatur es The Samson D2500 Digital Graphic Equaliz er utilizes state -of-the -ar t, DSP and filtering technology for precise t onal control . Here are some of its main featur es: • The D250.
4 1 F ADER – 45mm LED fader for each of the 31 frequency bands, which can be soft ware set f or +/- 12 dB or +/- 6 dB , or +/- 3 dB of cut and boost.

9 T o change the M aster F ader ’ s attenuation range follow these steps: • Press the GL OBAL contr ol switch until you see the M.F .. • Use the Data Wheel to select the operating range of Master F ader .
10 Using the D2500 in MANU AL Mode The D2500 can be used as a stand-alone basic digital signal processor using an y stored or recalled memory parameters when set to M ANUAL mode. If you w ant to use all the power pr ocessing of the D2500, but you don ’t want to recall or sa ve any presets , you can operate the unit in Manual mode.
11 W orking with the D2500 F aders Unlike menu driven, black box devic es, the D2500 is a digi- tal equalizer with standard 45 mm analog faders f or the 31 filter bands, plus the Master lev el fader for true analog control .
12 Using the Pr ocess Switches Using the Pr ocess Switches In addition to being a great sounding , clinically precise, digital equalizer , the D2500 pr ovides a host of useful digi- tal effects, which hav e been designed to make an audio engineer’ s job easier and project sound better .
13 • P ress the FBM switch and use the Data Wheel to and • P ress the FBM switch and use the Data Wheel to and select FBM: ON. • Now , engage the effect by pressing the IN / OUT switch until the yellow LED lights . • T o access the F eedback Sensitivity parameter , press the FBM switch until you see the menu , S ensitivity .
14 Once the highs return, the Enhance r eleases automatically . Of course the D2500 let ’ s you dial up just the right amount of Enhancer for y our project, so follow the steps below to activate the Enhancer . • Pr ess the ENHANCER switch so that the yellow LED is lit.
15 Opera ting the D2500 Using the Int ernal LIMITER for Basic Speaker Protection In order to help you pr otec t your speaker system, the D2500 employs a digital Limiter . T he D2500's Limiter is a brick wall type with a very fast attack time and a ver y slow release time.
16 Storing Pr ograms in the D2500 The D2500 has 99 memory locations (labeled 01-99) for storing user presets. Y ou can save the equalization curve, as well as all the parameters f or the routing and the onboard effects that may be active . Saving the preset is a simple procedur e which is accomplished with the follow- ing easy steps.
17 Opera ting the D2500 MIDI and D Net F or expanded system control, the D2500 uses standar d MIDI, as well as Samson ’ s D Net communica tion protocols, to transmit and rec eive digital control inf or mation to and from additional D class units, other MIDI devic es, or per- sonal computers.
18 Selecting MIDI Omni mo de Y ou can program the D2500 to receiv e MIDI messages in Omni mode by follo wing the nex t steps. • Press the MIDI swit ch until that L CD reads OMNI.
19 When you use the D1500 RT A and the D2500 digital EQ together they combine to cr eate a powerful automatic equalization system. Y ou simply connect the two units using D-Net or MIDI, and then the D.

21 Using the D1500 with the D2500 In order for the D1500 and D2500 to c ommunicate with each other it is necessary to configure the MIDI param- eters so that the units are c ommunicating properly . Follow the steps below to c onfigure the MIDI parameters for communication between one D1500 RT A and one D2500 Digital EQ .
22 Using the D1500’ s EQ Display The D1500 can be used to display the equaliza tion cur ve from 1, or up to 15, D2500 Digital E qualizers using the standard MIDI or optional D-Net interface.
23 • Now run your mic , MP3, or CD player signal, press RT A on the D1500 and check the L CD M eters on the D1500. • While the D1500 is set to RT A, you ma y need to adjust the GAIN to set the ref erence point of the display .
24 S ystem C onfigur ations Using the D2500 with A c tive Speakers In this example, the mix er ’ s stereo output is connected to the D2500’ s inputs. Then, the D2500’ s outputs are connected to the inputs of each active (self-powered) loudspeak er.

26 S ystem C onfigur ations Using T wo D2500’ s for Mains and Monitors In this example, two D2500’ s are used f or the stereo main and for the 2-channel monitor mix. The mixer ’ s left and right outputs are connected to the first D2500’ s inputs for the main P A speakers .
