1 Thank you for purchasing the CL5 Condenser M icrophone from S amson Audio . The CL5 is a handheld, externally biased, true capacitor (condenser) pressure gradient microphone that exc els in both live per formance and recor ding applications.
2 CL5 Fea ture s The Samso n CL5 condens er has been pr oduced using sta te-of-the-ar t micro phone technolo gy and is engine ered to the finest detail . Here are some of its main fea tures: • Extended rang e linear freq uency respon se for optimum rep rodu c tion and ex ception- ally clear , crisp sound with gre at tra nsient resp onse.
3 Po wering the CL5 The CL5 is a condenser microphone and therefor e needs to be operated by connecting a phantom power supply . Phantom power is standard on most quality mixers, outboard mic-pres and hard disk recorders. If necessary, an ex ternal phantom supply (like the S phantom by Samson Audio) can also be used.
