• 4 • GENERAL INFORMATION The co ee machine is suitable for pr eparing espresso co ee using either co ee beans or gr ound co ee and is equipped with a device to dispense steam and hot w ater . T he structure of the ma- chine has been designed for domestic use only and is not suitable for continuous professional- type operation.
• 5 • Danger of Burns Never direct the steam/hot w ater wand to wards y ourself or others: Danger of scalding! Always use the handles or knobs provided .

Remove the w ater lter fr om its packag- ing, immerse it v ertically (with the open- ings positioned upwar ds) in cold water and gently press its sides so as t o let the air bubbles out.
• 11 • ADJUSTMENTS The machine that y ou have bough t allows for certain adjustments that will permit you to use it t o its full potential. S aeco Adapting System Coffee is a natur al product and its char- acteristics may change accor ding to its origin, blend and roast.
• 12 • • 12 • • The machine begins the dispensing phase. The “ ” icon will be displayed to show which button is being pr o- grammed. • Press the butt on with the “ ” icon again when the desired amount of co ee in the cup is reached .
• 13 • Dispensing Spout Adjust- ment Most cups on the market can be used with this co ee machine. The height of the dispensing spout ma y be adjusted to better t the dimensions of the cups that you wish t o use. Manually move the dispensing spout up or down to adjust its height by placing your ngers as shown in the gure.
• 14 • • 14 • The machine is adjusted to brew a true Italian espresso coffee. This feature may slightly lengthen the brewing time, allowing the intense flav or of the coffee to develop fully . Using Pre-Ground Co ee This function allows using pre-ground and dec affein- ated co ee.

• 17 • • It is recommended to clean the wa ter tank daily . - Remove the small white lter in the water tank and w ash it under running drinking water . - Reposition the small white lter in its housing by gently pressing and turning it at the same time.
• 18 • • 18 • Orange DESCALING Limescale normally builds up with the use of the appliance. The display informs y ou when descaling is necessary: Red • Hold the “ ” button pressed for 5 seconds. The display will show the icon on the side.
• 19 • Red • Once the rst phase is complete, turn the selector dial clockwise to the " " position to start dispensing the descaling solution from the steam wand.
• 20 • • 20 • Red • The icon indicat es that the tank must be rinsed and lled. Red • The machine carries out the sec ond rinse cycle of the descaling solution. Wait until the end of the dispensing cycle. Red • After inserting the water-filled tank in the machine, turn the selector dial clockwise to the " " position.
• 21 • Descaling c ycle is now complete and the machine can be used to brew products. If the water tank is not lled up to the MAX lev el during descaling c ycle phases, the machine could prompt to dispense more wat er . • Remov e the descaling liquids from the drip tray .
• 22 • • 22 • PROGRAMMING The user can change some of the ma- chine operating paramet ers to suit his/ her needs. Enter the “ menu” The progr amming menu can only be ac- cessed when the machine is in “stand-b y” mode. T o change the machine status to stand-by mode, press the ON/OFF butt on.

TIMER ST ANDBY This function allows you to adjust the time the machine will go into stand-by mode after the last brewing .

Wait until the machine aut omatically stops brewing the bever age. • The machine must be descaled. • The brew group is being reset due t o machi- ne reset. • The co ee bean hopper needs to be re lled with co ee beans to restart the brewing cycle.
• 25 • • Close the ser vice door . • Re ll the co ee bean hopper . • T urn the machine o . After 30-seconds , turn it back on. T ry 2 or 3 times. If the machine does NOT start, contact an authorized service center . • Inser t the brew group in the machine .
• 26 • Machine Actions Causes Solutions The machine does not turn on. T h e machine is not connected to the pow er source. Connect the machine to the power sour ce. The co ee is not hot enough. The cups are c old. W arm the cups with hot water .
