Page 7 INSTRUCTIONS When unpacking the tool: ■ Carefully remov e the tool and accessor ies from the box. ■ Make sure that all items listed in the pac king list are in- cluded. ■ Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
Page 8 KNOW YOUR DRILL-DRIVER See Figure 1. Before using this tool, familiarize yourself with all operating features and safety requirements. However, do not let familiarity with the tool make you careless. This new drill-driver is equipped with the following features.

Page 10 REVERSIBLE See Figure 2. This tool is reversible. The direction of rotation is controlled by a selector located above the switch trigger. With the drill held in normal operating position, the direction of rotation selector should be positioned to the left of the switch for drilling.
Page 11 ADJUSTMENTS INSTALLING BITS See Figures 4 and 5. ■ Place the direction of rotation selector in center position. This will lock the switch trigger in the off position. See Figure 10. ■ Open or close the chuck jaws to a point where the opening is slightly larger than the bit size you intend to use.
Page 12 24 20 5 24 20 5 ADJUSTMENTS ADJUSTABLE TORQUE CLUTCH See Figure 6. When using your drill-driver f or va rious driving applications, it becomes necessar y to increase or decrease the torque in order to help prev ent the possibility of damaging screw heads, threads, w orkpiece, etc.

Page 14 24 20 5 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR RECHARGING HOT BATTERIES When using your drill-driver continuously, the batteries in your battery pack become hot. You should let a hot battery pack cool down for approximately 30 minutes before at- tempting to recharge.

Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes, resulting in possible serious injury. DRILLING See Figure 12. When drilling hard, smooth surfaces, use a center punch to mark the desired hole location.
Page 16 OPERA TION LEVEL DRILLING See Figures 12 and 13. A conv enient new feature pro vided with your drill is a lev el. It is recessed in the motor housing on top of your drill. It can be used to keep drill bit le v el dur ing drilling operations. W ARNING: Do not force tool.
