3 GENERAL SAFETY RULES n Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the s witch or pl uggin g in tools t hat h ave t he swi tch o n invites accidents. n Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on.
4 SERVICE n Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury. n When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual.

7 EXTENSION CORDS When using a power tool at a considerable distance from a power source, be sure to use an extension cord that has the capacity to handle the current the tool will draw . An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in overheating and loss of power .

9 ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product has been shipped completely assembled. n Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. n Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
10 TURNING THE SAW ON/OFF See Figure 2. n T o tur n the saw on: Depress the switch trigger . n T o tur n the saw off: Release the switch trigger . ADJUSTING THE SPEED See Figure 3. The variable speed feature allows the saw to operate at speeds that can be increased by rotating the dial from 1 (slow) to 6 (fast).
11 OPERA TING THE SAW See Figure 5. n Secure the workpiece to a work bench or table with a vise or with clamps. n Make sure the saw blade is clear of any foreign material and that the power cord and extension cord are out of the blade path. n Hold the saw firmly in front of and clearly away from you.
