4 Before starting the hedge trimmer, make sure the blade is not in contact with any object. Stop the unit, remove the battery pack, and make sure the blade has stopped before setting the unit down. Never cut any material with a diameter larger than 3/8 in.

8 ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product has been shipped completely assembled. Carefully r emove the product and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.

13 MAINTENANCE LUBRICA TING THE BLADE See Figure 9. For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade before and after each use. Remove the battery pack from the hedge trimmer. Lay the hedge trim mer on a fla t sur face .
14 MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE HEDGE TRIMMER Slide the scabbard over the blade. Remove the battery pack. Clean dirt and debris from the body of the hedge trimm er, using a damp cloth with a mild detergent. NOTE: Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing or the handle.
