13 OPERA TION WARNING: Before connecting the drill to a power supply source, always check to be sure it is not in lock-on position (depr ess and release the switch trigger). Failu re to ensur e that it is not locked-on could result in accidental starting of the drill resulting in possible serious injury .
14 OPERA TION WOOD DRILLING For maximum performance, use high speed steel bits for wood drilling. Select normal drilling mode. Begin drilling at a very low speed to pr event the bit fr om slipping off the starting point. Increase the speed as the drill bit bites into the material.
15 MAINTENANCE CHUCK REMOV AL See Figures 11 - 13. The chuck may be removed and r eplaced with a new one. Unplug the drill. Open chuck jaws using the provided chuck key . Insert a 5/16 in. or larger hex key into the chuck of the drill and tighten the chuck jaws securely .
