3 GENERAL SAFETY RULES n Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the swi tch or plu gging in too ls that ha ve t he switc h on invites accidents. n Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before turning the tool on.
4 SERVICE n Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel may result in a risk of injury. n When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual.

7 EXTENSION CORDS When using a power tool at a considerable distance from a power sour ce, be sur e to use an extension cor d that has the capacity to handle the current the tool will draw . An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in overheating and loss of power .

9 ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product has been shipped completely assembled. n Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. n Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
10 OPERA TION A TT ACHING HOOK AND LOOP SANDING SHEETS See Figure 2. n Unplug the sander . n Alig n holes in hook and loop type sandin g sheet with holes in pad, then care full y press fuzz y sid e of the sandi ng sheet against pad as tightly as possible .
11 OPERA TION CAUTION: T o avoid motor damage resulting from overheating, do not cover the air vents with your hand. n Start the sander and let the motor build to its maximum speed. n �Gradually lower sander onto the workpiece so that all of the sanding disc surface is in contact with workpiece.

T o change sheet or pad, simply pull the used sheet or pad off the base and attach the desired sheet or pad by pressing the sheet or pad onto the base of the sander .
13 MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE SCRUBBING P ADS T o ensure longer life and optimum performance, periodically clean all residue and foreign materials from the scrubbing pads. This can be done simply by rinsing the pad with warm water until all foreign material has been washed away .
