Page 4 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES ■ Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when per- forming an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the cutting tool “live” and shock the operator .

Page 6 ELECTRICAL DOUBLE INSULATION Double insulation is a concept in safety in electric power tools, which eliminates the need for the usual three-wire grounded power cord. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal metal motor components with protecting insulation.

However, do not let familiarity with the tool make you careless. SWITCH This tool is equipped with a simple switch control located near the front of the motor housing.
Page 8 UNP ACKING INSTRUCTIONS When unpacking the sander: ■ Carefully remove the tool and accessories from the box. ■ Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. ■ Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping.
Page 9 ASSEMBL Y W ARNING: The sander should never be connected to a power sup- ply when you are assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, performing maintenance, or when the tool is not in use. Disconnecting the tool will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious injury .

Page 11 OPERA TION Do not force. The weight of the unit supplies adequate pres- sure, so let the sanding disc and sander do the work. Apply- ing additional pressure only slows the motor , rapidly wears sanding disc and greatly reduces sander speed.
Page 12 OPERA TION Fig. 10 CHANGING THE SANDING SHEETS See Figure 8. The sander is packed with sanding sheets and pads designed for a variety of uses. T o change sheets, simply pull the used sheet off the base and attach the desired sheet by pressing the sheet or pad onto the base of the sander .
Page 13 MAINTENANCE CLEANING THE SCRUBBING P ADS To ensure longer life and optimum performance, periodically clean all sanding residue and foreign materials from the scrubbing pads. This can be done simply by rinsing the pad with warm water untill all foreign material has been washed away.
