5 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES n AL W A YS EASE THE ABRASIVE WHEEL AGAINST THE MA TERIAL when starting to cut. A harsh impact can break the wheel. n BEFORE CUTTING press the trigger switch and allow the cut-off wheel to r each full speed.

8 SPEED AND WIRING The no-load speed of this tool is approximately 3,900 rpm. This speed is not constant and decreases under a load or with lower voltage. For voltage, the wiring in a shop is as important as the motor’ s horsepower rating. A line intended only for lights cannot pr operly carry a power tool motor .

11 LOOSE P ARTS ASSEMBL Y UNP ACKING This product has been shipped completely assembled. n Carefully lift machine from the carton by the carrying handle and the machine base, and place it on a level work surface. NOTE: This tool is heavy . T o avoid back injury , lift with your legs, not your back, and get help when needed.
12 REMOV AL / INST ALLA TION OF WHEEL TO REMOVE See Figure 5. n Unplug the cut-off machine. n Push down on machine arm and r emove transport chain from hook on motor housing to r elease machine arm. n Raise machine arm to its full raised position. Be cautious when raising, machine arm is spring loaded.

The adjustable fence is located at the rear of the cut-off machine. As mentioned previously , it is used along with the vise clamp to provide a clamp for holding the workpiece securely when making cuts.

Damage may result to the wheel if it strikes the machine base support during operation of the machine. � n Tighten the depth stop bolt with the hex wrench provided.
16 MA TERIAL TO BE CUT POWER SUPPL Y Before operating the cut-off machine, check the power supply and make sure it meets the requir ements listed on the tool’ s data plate. A substantial voltage drop will cause a loss of power and machine overheating.
