ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 6 Main Menu Options The Main Menu contains the most frequently used options. To open the Main Menu, select Options . The following options are always available during navigation or map brow sing: Search – Select a database and find the places you nee d.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 7 Help – Open the contextual help. Exit – Terminate the current working session. Two more options are available only during navig ation: Stop navigation – Interrupt the current navigation. Define road block – Avoid a segment of the trip and find an alternative route.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 8 Add to route – Open the Plan new route view. Show information – Place the cursor over an y map object ( ex . street, house, area) and display an information ballo on. The information balloon disappears when you move the cursor to a different position on the map.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 9 Use this section to find a location and start navigating to it. A location can be an address, a lan dmark, a history record, a nearby location (po int - of - interest), or a phone contact. Search - Free Text [* S60] Simultaneously search in all available databases.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 10 Scroll the list of results. Filter the results, if necessary. Select an item from the list. Search - Address Search locations by street name, city name, postcode or house number. Enter keywords and start the search query.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 11 Select an item from the list. Search - Nearby You can search locations by selecting a category of landmarks. For example, to find all restaurants around your current position, sel ect the Eating & Dr inking category.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 13 Search - History This view lists all history records. Any locat ion u sed during navigation (departure point, destin ation point, waypoints) is recorded as a history item. Any history record can be used for future navigat ions.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 14 Any address, history record, nearby location, or point on the map can be come a landmark. Landmarks are used when you start navigating, pl an trips, or browse the map. All available landmarks are listed in alphabetical order.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 15 Set Office Location Office is a special landmark. It is a favouri te location of great importance to you. It can be, for example, your real office address. Before you can use the office location, you must c onfigure it.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 18 To change the language of the voice instructions, refer to Sett ings > General > Vo ice language . To configure the sound intensity of your device, refer to your mobile phone’s User Manual. To turn off the voice instructions, press 9 .
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 19 You can start planning your trip from any section of the application, as follows: directly from the map: when the cursor indicates a locat ion on the ma p, press the scroll key and select Add to route . from the main menu: select Options > Trips > Plan new route .
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 20 Enter Route Name Type the name of the new trip. Define Departure Change – opens the Add waypoint view in order to rep lace the selected item with a different one. Set departure – opens the Set departure view and allows you to locate the place you need for the departure of this trip.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 25 Trips This view displays all saved trips. You can do the following operations: define a new route. Refer to Plan New Ro ute for details. open the selected trip. mark several trips for a simultaneous deletion.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 26 Rename – allows you to provide a different name for the selec ted trip. Delete - permanently removes the current trip from the application. Settings - allows you to customize the behaviour of the application.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 27 Delete route - permanently removes the current trip from the application. Simulate Route After a trip is saved, you can view a simulated demonstration al ong the route. You will see on the navigation screen the driving i nstructions.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 28 Press 2 t o change the layout of the navigation b ar: large, medium, small, arrows, off (full screen). Press 3 t o toggle between day colours and night c olours. Press 4 to show or hide the progress bar. Press 6 to toggle between 2D perspective and 3D perspective.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 43 Maps When you cross the border from one country to another, you must change the currently used map in order to mat ch you r physical location (GPS coordinates) with the map co verage. The Maps view d isplays all maps available on your device.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 44 Change Current M ap Depending on the product you bought, and the c ountry o r region of pu rchase, at least one map is alread y availab le and activated on your device. Other map s can be displayed in th e Available list, but only after you complete the activation procedure for ea ch new map.

Select Options > Show information . Download Cameras After you found the service you need, start downloading the safety camera service.

Aft er the safety cameras database is updated on your device, you can check the available categories o f t raffic control, and their location on the current map.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 56 ROUTE 66 Mobile 8 allows you to receive the latest weather forecasts on your device. Thus, you are informed in advance of the weathe r conditions al ong your route. The weather forecasts are gathered by specialized weather - monitoring centers.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 57 Locate Weather Pac kages Open the Shop catalog. Scroll the list of packages you can activate. Op en – displays the content of the selected folder. Buy license – starts the subscribing process. Show information – displays package details.

The credit card information is processed (verif ied). When completed, the activated package is transferred to the Available list of weather packages.

Enter the name, the latitude, and the longitude. All fields are mandatory. Save the details. The new city is added to the list of favourite citi es.

It’s tim e to update the weather forecast. Update – click this bu tton to manually receive new weather f orecasts for all cities in the list.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 85 Show Scale You can d isplay or hide the map scale in the upper -right corner of the navigation screen. The map scale is a graph ical and textual a id on th e map. When you zoom in or zoom o ut, the map scale value changes accordingly.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 86 Rotate Map You can set the behaviour of the map and the GPS arrow during n avigation. During navigation, the GPS arrow indicates your moving direction (ex. u p orientation of t he GPS arrow for a northward navigation, left orientation of th e GPS arrow fo r a westward navigation).

Scroll up or down to select a different option. Navigation Bar Transparency Options > Settings > Navigation > Navigation bar transparency.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 92 Call Handling [* S60] Configure the behaviour of the voice instructions during a phone call. Scroll the list of available options. Select and save an option. Dim instructions – the voice instructions are low er than the conversati on on the phone.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 93 Avoid Toll Roads Enable or disable the Avoid toll roads option. Depending on this configuration, toll roads wil l be excluded or not from the calculated route. Thu s, for the same d eparture and destination locations, alt ernative routes will be available.

Alarm Speed What is safety speed? This is a personal preference. You set a maximum sp eed limit you don’t want to exceed during navigation.
ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 95 If the entered value is smalle r than the minimum value, OK is hidd en and you cannot save the entered value. Alarm Type Set the type of alarm for the alarm speed. The alarm can be an acoustic warning and/or a graphical representation on the screen.

When the ro ute is calculated, you can see the estimated travel time and the estimated time of arrival.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 100 Select a landmark category. You can use the default alarm or you can customize the warning details for the selected landmark category. When focus is on All categories (first item in the list), you can toggle between selecting all items in the list and deselecting all items in the lis t.

ROUTE 66 M OBILE 8 User M anual 102 If you select Yes , you can manually set the follow ing settings: visual alarm, warning sound, warning distance, warning only on route. Note: Each time you customize a category, ROUTE 66 Mobile 8 searches all audio files available on your phone.

Warning Sound In this view you select the ringtone or music clip to be used when an alarm is triggered.
