The Auto V ideo Entertainment System is designed for rear passengers only . The dri ver cannot safely view the FPD (flat panel display) while driving and should not attempt to do so. Many states ha ve laws that restrict using a device in the v ehicle that receives a television broadcast.
The push button on the o verhead console releases the Auto V ideo™ screen just far enough so that it can easily be position for optimal viewing. This action sends power automatically to all the system components. The screen will display the last video signal chosen.
By depressing any of these b uttons once, the OSM displays the button ’ s function. Press again and the function is carried out. The buttons located on the side of the screen perform many of the same functions as the system remote.
The status indicator light is located on the right side face of the vie wing panel just under the word "PO WER". This indicator will display green when the vehicle ’ s key is turned on. This indicates that the system is ready for operation.

The system remote control is the heart of your entertainment system. It controls the majority of your system ’ s functions. V ideo selection may be made by this remote control. The TV Tuner is accessed by remote for channel selection and for fine tuning.
LCD PO WER This b utton sends power to the flat panel display when pressed. It also turns off the power to the entire system. MUTE This b utton mutes audio to both the headphones and the factory sound system. A UDIO This b utton allows the sound of the video system to be heard through the vehicle speakers, the headphones, or both.
Pressing the MENU button on the system remote will display the OSM. When in the A V1 or A V2 selection and you press MENU, the display looks like the illustration at right: From here you can scroll the position arrow up and down using the and buttons on the remote.
OSMs (ON-SCREEN MENUS) 2-5 Selecting PICTURE will display this sub-menu. Y ou can scroll up or down to make your selection for adjustment. Brightness, color , tint and contrast are preset at the factory . There is a "Restore to Factory" selection under OPTIONS which will restore the factory settings.
By selecting A UDIO, you can change settings that configure the tuner and initial speaker selection of your Auto Video system. A UDIO MODE - configures the tuner to receiv e STEREO or SAP (second audio program) broadcasts. This setting ef fects all channels.
OSMs (ON-SCREEN MENUS) 2-7 Choosing OPTIONS - CONFIGURE provides setting that will conf igure the power mode. Y our Auto V ideo system should be configured to the ST ANDBY powered mode.
Selecting OPTIONS - PICTURE allows you to either sa ve or restore the picture adjustments you hav e made. T o save your settings, select SA VE USER and press ENTER. No w your brightness, color , tint and contrast are saved. Hint: This option works well for a night setting when you may want to r educe the brightness of the display .

T o load a VHS tape into the VCP , gently insert the cassette, label-side up, into the cassette compartment until it stops. The VCP will continue loading the tape and begin playing it automatically . THE R VP9800 VCP 3-2 A. PO WER button: Press this button to turn the VCP on or off.
R OSEN R VP9800 VCP 3-3 E. PLA Y button: Press this button to play a video tape. If a video tape is loaded, pressing this button will power the VCP . F . FF button: Press this b utton to fast forward the tape. Y ou can view the tape in fast forw ard if the tape is playing.

WIRELESS HEADPHONES Using the wireless radio frequency (RF) headphones allows some passengers to listen to the Auto V ideo system while others can listen to the radio. T o select the wireless headphones, be sure the on/off switch is in the ‘ on ’ position and the volume is turned all the way do wn.
When desired, Auto V ideo system sound can be enjoyed by all passengers in your vehicle through the factory radio sound system. Even though you cannot see the Rosen Audio Modulator because it is installed behind the dashboard, it enables the audio signal from the video source you select to work with your vehicle radio.

Pressing the MENU button on the system will display the OSM. If the system is in the TV mode and you press MENU, the display looks like the diagram to the left. From here you can toggle the position arrow up and do wn using the buttons on the remote.
5-3 TV TUNER OSM Choosing the OPTIONS menu (diagram 1, abov e) and moving into the CONFIGURE menu will allow you to set the SCAN TYPE to either R T SCAN (Real T ime Scan), or PRE-SCAN. R T SCAN sets the tuner to always scan to the ne xt strongest signal when tuning up or down.
TV TUNER OSM 5-4 PICTURE A UDIO OPTIONS TUNING ENTER MENU T O EXIT Choosing the TUNING menu will display the AFC (Automatic Fine T uning Control) screen. In this menu, you can fine tune with the b uttons. Y ou can fine tune only the particular TV channel that you hav e selected on screen.
5-5 The system remote control is the main control for the tele vision tuner . Other than the two manual controls on the display for channel up and down, all other tuner functions are controlled by the system remote control. This section of the manual will e xplain the tuner control buttons.
5-6 TV TUNER REMO TE CONTROL FUNCTIONS While in TV tuner mode and with the system conf igured to PRE-SCAN, this button will scan through all 69 channels and preset the strongest channels to memory . When the system is con-figuring to R T SCAN, this button will unlock all channels.
TV TUNER REMO TE CONTROL FUNCTIONS 5-7 During the tuner mode, this button when pressed will display the TV channel while viewing the tele vision. It will also exit the user out of the f ine tuning OSM. The RECALL button should be thought of as a recall/memory button and not last display channel recall.

CONNECTING GAME SYSTEMS OR CAMCORDERS 6-2 Connecting game systems or camcorders is as easy as matching the colors of the RCA plugs on the device to the colors on the INPUT jacks on the TV Tuner Interface. Y ellow -> Y ellow (V ideo) White -> White (Left Audio) Red -> Red (Right Audio) W ith some games systems, an adapter is required.
AC POWER INVERTERS 6-3 Some video game systems, camcorders, and other video devices require 120 V A C "household" current instead of the 12 VDC supplied by your vehicle. These devices require the use of an A C power in verter (not a con verter) to change the vehicle ’ s 12 VDC to 120 V A C.
