OWNER’S MANUAL Thank you, and congratulations on your choice of the Roland TDA-700 V-Drums amplifier. Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: “IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS” (page 2), “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” (page 3–5), and “IMPORTANT NOTES” (page 6).

4 015 • Do not force the unit ’ s power-supply cord to share an outlet with an unreasonable number of other devices. Be especially careful when using extension cords — the total power used by all devices you have connected to the extension cord ’ s outlet must never exceed the power rating (watts/amperes) for the extension cord.

7 Introduction Main Features FFP Technology This amplifier relies on Roland ’ s own innovative FFP technology. By digitally processing the input signal, it provides response that is geared perfectly toward amplification of the V-drums sound. At the same time, it achieves sonic pressure that surpasses the size and wattage of the cabinet.
8 Panel Descriptions Front Panel fig.20 CHANNEL CONTROL ............. * When using in “Stereo Link” (p. 14) configuration, the controls explained here work only on the main unit. ● CH 1/V-DRUMS 1. VOLUME Knob Sets the volume for CH1. Rotating the knob clockwise increases the volume.
9 Panel Descriptions MASTER CONTROL ................ 6. EQUALIZER The TDA-700 comes with a three-band equalizer. BASS Knob This adjusts the tone of the bass range. MIDDLE Knob This adjusts the tone of the middle range. TREBLE Knob This adjusts the tone of the treble range.
10 Panel Descriptions Rear Panel fig.21 CHANNEL INPUT ................... 10 . V-DRUMS IN Jack This is an input that accepts a stereo signal from the V- Drums module through a single jack. Connection is made simple using just one stereo phone cable to the module ’ s headphone output.
11 Connect your TDA-700 Refer to the following diagram and connect the TDA-700 to the external equipment you are using. fig.30-1 * To prevent malfunction and/or damage to speakers or other devices, always turn down the volume, and turn off the power on all devices before making any connections.
12 Connect your TDA-700 Volume settings when using V-Drums sound module For best possible sound quality, set the volume of the V-Drums sound module and TDA-700 as follows. 1. When PHONES on the V-Drums sound generator is connected to the TDA-700 ’ s V-DRUMS IN , set the V- Drums generator ’ s PHONES VOLUME to the center position.
13 Connect your TDA-700 Adjust the direction of TDA-700 to suit the environment in which you are using it. ● When using TDA-700 as a personal monitor . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Try several positions and angles until you find the most comfortable setup.
14 Connect your TDA-700 Stereo Link Stereo playback is enabled simply by connecting two TDA-700 units with a single audio cable (phone type). This function is called “ Stereo Link.
15 Connect your TDA-700 The following shows the placement of V-Drums KIT and the TDA-700 in a Stereo Link configuration. ● When using TDA-700 as a personal monitor . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Place the main unit to your right.
16 Proper Use of the Casters Attaching and Removing the Casters You can attach or remove the casters as shown in the following figure. Be sure to remove all the casters when accidental movement may be dangerous, such as when setting up the TDA-700 on stage, or when transporting it in a vehicle.
