1 Firmware Update Instruction Manual This manual describes the proc edures for downloading the G800 firmware from the Ricoh website and updati ng the firmware. Perform the followin g operations to up date the firmware. Flow of procedures " 1. Check the current versio n of the firmware (p.
2 1. Check the version of the firmware Caution Before updating, be sure to check the firmware ve rsion using the following method. If the installed firmware is the latest version, there is no need to upgrade . 1. With the camera turned off, while pressing the l button ( 1 ), press and hold the 6 (Playback) button ( 2 ) down for 2 to 3 seconds 2.
3 2. Download the firmware file, and get it ready for use 1. Download the firmware to your co mputer from the Ri coh website 2. Either doubleclick the down loaded file or click [OK] when the dialog box appears (refer to the below diagram) • For Windows, designate the destination for the extrac ted file, and click [OK].

8 • If a message saying, [Incorrect rewriting file] a ppears on the picture display and the power t o the camera turns off automatically, check the model of the camera, and use the correct firmware to update the firmware again. • If the message, [No rewriting file] is displayed, then the firmware was not copied to the SD memory card correctly.
9 5. Check the firmware version of the camera Follow the procedures in [1. Check the firmware ver sion] on page 2, and confirm that the version of the firmware has changed • If the SD memory card continues to be used wi th the firmware files co pied to it, the number of captured pictures that can be taken will decrease.
