VP AP ST -A at a glance The VP AP ST -A system comprises the f ollowing elements: • VP AP S T -A device • Air tubing • 90W pow er supply unit • S9 T ravel bag • SD card • S9 SD card protective f older .
Setting up 1. Connect the DC plug of the pow er supply unit to the rear of the device. 2. Connect the pow er cord to the power supply unit. 3. Plug the other end of the pow er cord into the power outlet. 4. Connect one end of the air tubing firmly onto the air outlet.
VP AP ST -A basics The control panel of y our device includes an LCD screen as well as a Start/Stop button, P ush dial, Alarm mute but ton, Info and Set up menu ke ys. Info menu Allows you to view your sleep statistics or exit from the menu. Setup menu Allows you to make changes to settings or exit from the menu.
Adjusting r amp time Designed to make the beginning of treatment more comf ort able, ramp time is the period during whic h the pressure increases from a low start pressure to the treatment pressure. T o adjust y our ramp time: Using Mask Fit Y ou can use Mask Fit to help you fit y our mask properly .
Selecting the mask type T o select your type of mask: 1. Press . The SETTINGS screen is display ed. 2. T urn until Mask is display ed in blue. 3. Press . The selection is highlighted in orange. 4. T urn until the mask set ting that you require is display ed.
Getting star ted 1. Make sure the po wer is connected. 2. Adjust the ramp time or humidification le vel if required. 3. Fit your mask as described in y our mask user guide. 4. T o st art therapy , simply breathe into the mask and/or press . 5. Lie down and arrange the air t ubing so that it is free to move if y ou turn in y our sleep.
Viewing the tr eatment screens Depending on how the sy stem has been configured, you will see one of the follo wing example screens (shown in S T mode) once therapy has started: 9 H5i humidifier 9 H5i.
T o toggle bet ween the treatment screens, press from your HOME screen. 9 T reatment with device trigger (Timed) and cycle (Timed, Ti Max or Ti Min) breath indicators 9 T reatment with spont aneous tr.
Viewing alar ms The VP AP ST -A is fit ted with an alarm module that continuously monitors both therapy and device conditions. Alarms are only activ ated when therapy is running. An alarm condition is indicated b y an audible sound, a flashing yello w alarm LED and a message on the screen.
Cleaning and maintenance Y ou should regularly carr y out cleaning and maintenance as described in this section. Ref er to your mask and humidifier user guides f or det ailed instructions regarding the care of these devices. Daily Remo ve the air tubing b y pulling on the finger grips on the cuff .
SD card An SD card has been supplied to gather therapy data from your de vice and provide set tings updates from your clinician. When instructed to do so, disconnect the device from the pow er outlet, remove y our SD card, insert it in the protective folder and send it to y our clinician.
