4 1. accessory softwares to install 1) Note the following point s before installing. a) The M3T -NC8C has already been installe d. b) The M3T -NC30WA has already been installed. c) The emulat or software h as already been installed. Install the sof tware attached to this product after uninst alling the above soft ware.

10 2.2 Emulator Sof tware, C Compiler and High-performance Embedded W orkshop Inst allations 1) Installation Double-click an inst aller of CD-ROM ¥ dlp_tool ¥. 2) Installation procedu res are described below . Select the language to be used and cli c k “Next”.

13 Check the setting before st arting the installation and if the setting is correct, click “Next”. Then, a copy will be started. Click “Finish”.
14 2.3 USB driver inst allation Connect the E8 emulator using the US B cable to the USB port of host ma chine. <Windows XP> Installation proce dures a re described below . If the E8 emulator is connected, it is recogni zed a s a new hardware. Click “Next” after sel ecting “Ins tall the sof tware automatically”.
15 Renesas USB drivers are not authenticated by Mi crosoft, but we provide them based on the sufficient examination. Insert CD-ROM and specif y ¥dlp_tool¥ DRIVERS¥USB¥XP¥.
16 <Windows 98/ME> Installation proce dures a re described below . If E8 emulator is connected, it is recognized as a ne w hard ware. Click “Next” and sta rt inst alling a driver . Put a check into “search for the be st driver for your device” and click “Next”.

18 2.4 Operate Sample Program 1) Copy ¥Jap anese¥M3A01 15_17¥PROGRAM¥ in CD-ROM to the given folder . 2) Change a file attribute Since the copied file attribute is set to “read-only”, cha nge it to the attribute which can be re ad or written .

20 <Windows 98/ME> Select all files in the copied folder by a mouse. Select “File” and “Property”. Remove a check of “Read-only” and click “Apply”.
21 Click “Close”. Perform this setting to files in all folders of “3min_timer” and “ad _on kai”. The installation is complet ed above..
22 3) Connect a t arget b oard Use a user cable to the E8 emulator and connect a t arget bo ard. Perform the below setting for the ju mper setting of a t arget board.
23 4) Compile a sample program The example of the musical scal e pro gram (ad_onkai.hws) is sho w n belo w . (1) S tart High-performance Embedded Workshop Select “program” of st art menu - “Renesas” - “High-perform ance Embedded Workshop” - “High-performance Embedded W orkshop” and click.
24 (4) Select “R5F21 174” for Device and put a check i nto “Download emulator firmware” for Mo de. Click “OK”. (5) When 5V power supply is perfo rmed from E8, put a check into “Powe r supply is carried out ”. Select 5.0V and click “OK”.
25 (3) Execute Click “Debug” - “Ex ecute ”. (4) If clicking “Debug” - “S top a prog ram”, a program will stop. When executing t he program again, click “Debug” - “Execute ”. <Musical Scale Program> When a program execution st art s, LED1(red) lights up.
