4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

6 ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispos e of the pa ckin g mate rial s unti l asse mbly i s comp lete d.
7 2. Attach a Wheel (96) to the Base (95) with a 3/8" x 2" Bolt (8) and a 3/8" Nut (10). Do not over- tighten the Nut; the Wheel must turn freely. Press a Base Cap (89) into the Base (95). See the inset drawing. Cut the plastic tie near the Upright Wire (87).
8 4. Hold th e Right U prigh t (85) ag ainst t he Base (95). B e caref ul not to p inch t he Upri ght Wire (8 7). Ins ert two 3 /8" x 4" B olts (7 ) with tw o 3/8" St ar Wash ers (1 1) and a 3/ 8" x 1 1/2" B olt (14) wi th a 3/8" S tar Wa sher (1 1) into t he Righ t Uprig ht.
6. Hold the Left Upright (84) against the Base (95). Insert two 3/8" x 4" Bolts (7) with two 3/8" Star Washe rs (11) a nd a 3/8" x 1 1/2" Bolt ( 14) wit h a 3/8" St ar Wash er (11 ) into th e Left Upright.
10 7. Identify the Left Base Cover (88) and the Right Base Cover (91). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (84). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (85). 91 85 84 8 8 7 8. Remove the Resistance Knob (114) from a re- sistance mechanism.
1 1 9. Insert the end of a Crosswalk Arm (121) into the hole in the top of a resistance mechanism. Make sure that the bend in the Crosswalk Arm is positioned as shown. Tighten a #8 x 3/4" Screw (1) into the resistance mechanism and the Crosswalk Arm (121) from the direction shown.
12 12. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the Crossbar (107), do not use power tools and do not overtighten the #10 x 3/4" Screws (2). Orient the Crossbar (107) as shown. Attach the Crossbar to the Handrails (82, 83) with four #10 x 3/4" Screws (2) and four #10" Star Washers (12); do not fully tighten the Screws yet.
13 14. Set the console assembly on the Left and Right Handrails (82, 83). Be careful not to pinch any wires. Insert the excess Upright Wire (87) into the Right Handrail. Attach the console assembly to the Crossbar (107) with six #8 x 3/4" Screws (1).
14 15. Hold the Right Upright Cover (86) against the console assembly. Align the holes in the Right Upright Cover with the holes in the Right Upright (85). Attach the Right Upright Cover with two #8 x 3/4" Screws (1). Attach the Left Upright Cover (80) to the Left Upright (84) in the same way.
15 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
16 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
17 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
18 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the I ncline increase or decrease button or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you p ress one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradu- ally adjust to the selected incline setting.
19 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Before using the handgrip pulse sensor, remove t he sheets of plastic from the metal contacts on the pulse bar.
20 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the ke y into the consol e. See HOW T O TURN ON TH E POWER on p age 17. 2. Select an onboard workout. To select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Timed button, or the Distance button re- peatedly until the desired workout appears in the display.
21 If the speed or incline setting is too high or too low at any time during the workout, you can manually override the setting by pressing the Speed or I ncline buttons; however, when the next segment of the workout begins, the treadmill will auto- m atically adjust to the speed and incline set- tings for the next segment.
22 When you select an iFit Live workout, the displ ay will show the d uration of the wor kout, the dista nce you will walk o r run, and the appro ximate number o f c alories yo u will burn. The dis play may also sho w the name of the w orkout. If you sel ect a competiti on w orkout, th e display will cou nt down to the begin - ning of the rac e.
23 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console and then release the Stop button.
24 HOW TO USE THE CROSSWALK ARMS As you walk on the treadmill, you can hold the h andrails or use the crosswalk arms. To exercise your arms, shoulders, and back for a total body workout, m ove the crosswalk arms forward and back as you walk on the treadmill.

26 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
27 Remove t he three #8 x 3/4" Screws (1) a nd care- fully pivot the Motor Hood (62) off. Locate the Reed Switch (73) and the Magnet (47) on the left side of the Pulley (48). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 in.
28 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the k ey and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
