Connections and Setup 3 Front panel controls Open and close the disc tray . Start playing a disc. P ause. Stop disc playback. DISC S KIP – Goes to the next slot in the disc tray . Above the disc skip button indicator lights that show which disc is being played.
Connections and Setup 4 Connecting to audiovisual equipment Explanation of jacks and cables The jacks on the back of your receiver (pictur ed left) and the cables shown below are used to connect to other components.
Connections and Setup 5 Connecting the speakers Six speakers ar e provided with the unit (2 fr ont, 1 cente r , 2 r ear , 1 subwoofer). To achieve good sur round effects, all six speaker s need to be connected to the receiver . One speaker wire is attached with each speaker .
Connections and Setup 6 Magnetic shielding Speakers placed less than two feet fr om the TV set must be magnetically shielded in order to prevent pictur e distortion. Front and center speaker s provided with this unit ar e magnetically shielded to protect your TV set.
Connections and Setup 7 No adjacent walls Surround speaker s can go on stands facing each other to approximate sidewall mounting (A), or to the sides or r ear of the viewing area, aimed upwar ds; they can go right on the floor , or pr eferably , a few feet off the floor such as on end tables (B).

The main advantage of the mp3/WMA format is that CD-quality music tracks can be stor ed on a personal computer in user- friendly compressed files.

Player Menus Specifications 22 Language settings With this menu, you can set the language for player menus, dialog, subtitles and the disc menus. If you chose “English” during initial set-up, any menus generated by the disc ar e in English, and so is the language of the dialogs (if this language is available on the disc).

Additional Information 24 The disc menu language is not the correct one. • The disc menu language has not been set up (see page 22). • The language of your choice is not available on the disc (see page 22). Y ou have forgotten your password (Parental control).
Additional Information 25 Disc Formats you can play In order to ensure playback, discs must conform with DVD, CD, VCD or SVCD standards. This unit may not play some recordings or files due to differences in recording formats, software used & Disc types.
