C HAPTER 3: O PERATING AN ASCII D EVICE W ITH THE AUATC T ERMINAL C ONVERTER 7 Chapter 3: Operating an ASCII Device with the AUATC Terminal Converter This section describes how to access and operate an ACSI I-based device with a PS/2 or Sun console (keyboard and monitor) using the AUATC.
8 AUATC U SER M ANU AL Online Mode When the AUATC is operated in On-lin e mode (see Figure 4), the screen area displays your interactio ns with the ASCII device. This mode of operation is si milar to using an ASCII terminal to access and operate an ASCII device.
C HAPTER 3: O PERATING AN ASCII D EVICE W ITH THE AUATC T ERMINAL C ONVERTER 9 Buffer Edit Mode The AUATC stores the m ost recent eight pages of data from the ASCII device in a circ ular buffer. You can edit the data in the buffer. To operate the AUATC in Ed it Buffer Mode, press the < Alt-F4 >.
10 AUATC U SER M ANU AL Set-Up Operations Press < Alt-F2 > to set up the serial comm unication parameters and t he selection of video o utput (see Figure 7). You can change the serial comm unication baud rate and tr ansmission f ormat to meet your device needs.
