1 1. B ef ore Y ou Star t ... Thank you f or buying a R angemaster hob . It should give you many years tr ouble -free cooking if installed and operated correctly . I t is important that you read this section befor e you start, par ticularly if you hav e not used an induc tion hob before .
2 Hob Car e DO NO T use the hob sur face as a cutting board. DO NO T leave utensils, foodstuff s or combustible items on the hob when it is not is use (e.g . tea tow els, fr ying pans containing oil). DO NO T place plastic or aluminium foil, or plastic containers , on the hob.

4 P an Detector , ArtNo.030-0007 Induction symbols If a cooking area is switched on and there is no pan in place or if the pan is too small for the cooking area, then no heat will be generated . The symbol [ ArtNo.030-0007 Induction symbols ] will appear on the hob control displa y ; this is the “pan-missing symbol” .
5 Note: The ‘+’ keys have a r epeat function: holding the key pressed down will incr ease the power setting by one level every 0.3 seconds. T o reduce the power to a c ook ing zone select the required zone, as indicat ed by the red dot in the display .
6 T imer Function The timer has two settings: • Zone timer • Minute timer Zone T imer This allows each c ooking zone to be set to cook up to a maximum of 99 minutes at a set pow er level. A t the end of the cooking time the zone will turn off automatically .
7 T urning off the timer alarm: At the end of the cooking time the hob will beep steadily for 2 minutes. P ress any key to stop the alarm. Deactivating the timer: Make sure that none of the cooking zones has been selected. Pr ess the timer and ‘–‘ keys simultaneously .
8 Cleaning Burned-on Spills Make sure that the residual heat indica tors are off and that the hob is cool. Remov e the excess burned-on substance with a single -edged razor scraper . Hold the scraper at an angle of about 30° to the surface and then scrape off the burned- on matter (F ig.
