3 Features ˆ Features Your RadioShack High-Power Stereo A mp l i fi - er produces a total of 110 wa tts to give add- ed punch and power to your ve hicle’s existing auto sound system. The amplifier produces up to 55 watts per channel of clean, powerful sound at all a udio frequencies with mini mum distortion.
4 Preparation ˆ Preparation SUPPLIED HARDWARE Your amplifier comes with the followi ng items. Be sure you locate everything l isted before you store or dispo se of the pa cki n g mate ri al s. BEFORE Y OU BEGIN THE INSTALLATION Before you install your amplifier, read all the instructions in this owner’s manual.
5 Preparation Warning: The amplifier gets very ho t while it is on. Do not touch the a mplifier or place flammable objects near it w hile it is on. Preparing the Mounting Area In addition to th e supp.
6 Preparation Cautions: • For added safety and to protect your amplifier and auto sound system, dis- connect the cable from your vehicle’s negative ( – ) battery terminal be fore you begin. • Be sure your speakers can ha ndle as much as 1 10 watts of power (55 watts per channel).
7 Preparation using one of the supplied twist-on termi- nal connectors. This connection turns on the ampl ifier when you turn on the auto sound sys- tem, and turns off the amplifier when you turn off the auto sound system.
8 Connecting Inputs ˆ Connecting Inputs LOW-LEVEL INPUTS You can connect your auto sound system’ s low-level line out jacks to the amplifier’s low-level line in jacks. If your auto sound system does not have low-level line out jacks, see “High-Level (Speaker Wire) Inputs” on Page 9 to connect your amplifier.
9 Connecting Inputs HIGH-LEVEL (SPEAKER WIRE) INPUTS If your auto sound system does not have low-level line out jacks but has o nly speaker outputs, connect your auto sound system’s speaker outputs to the ampli fier’s HIGH IN- PUT jacks.

12 Connecting Inputs CONNECTING SPEAKERS You can connect two spea kers or a subwoof- er to the amplifier and your auto sound sys- tem. • If you are connecting two speakers, fo l- low Steps 1–3 under “Preparing the Speaker Wires” then see “Co nnecting T wo Speakers” on Page 13 to connect the speakers to the amplifier .
13 Connecting Inputs Connecting Two Speakers 1. Use a screwdriver to connect the left speake r ’s positive (+) wire to the ampl ifier ’s SPEAKER L (+ ) terminal. 2. Use a screwdriver to co nnect the left sp eaker ’s negative (–) wire to the ampl ifier ’s SPEAKER L (–) terminal.
14 Completing the Installation 2. Use a screwdriver to connect the sub- woofer ’s negative ( – ) wire to the ampli- fier ’s negative (–) terminal for th e same channel you connected in Step 1.
