11 CONNECTING THE FM ANTENNA To recei ve FM stati ons (when you are not us- ing ear phone s or headp hones ), you mus t co n- nect t he suppl ied FM an tenna. To connec t the FM antenna, inser t its 1 / 8 -inch plug into t he r a- dio’s jack. illus trati on 12-7 91.
12 USING THE BEL T-CLIP To atta ch the belt-cl ip, inser t its tabs in to the slot s on the back of the radio, then sl ide th e cli p towar d the top of t he radi o unt il it locks in plac e. To remov e the bel t-cl ip , pres s fi rml y an d slid e it towar d the botto m of the radio.
13 OPE RA TI ON BASIC OPERA TION 1. Tur n VOLUME to ward th e left t o i ts lo west setti ng. 2. Set OF F/ON to ON to t urn on t he radio. The las t sele cted ban d and st ation appear on the di sp lay .
14 3. T o chang e the band, press Band . AM or FM a nd the last select ed sta tion i n that band appear on the displ ay . 4. T o cha nge the stati on, pr ess TUNE or . As you press it, the st atio n change s on t he display . T o rap idly s can the s tations, press an d hold T UNE or for a bout 1 sec ond.

16 7. Set OFF/ E-BASS (Exten ded B ass) t o E- BASS to em phasize the b ass sound. Set it back to OF F for nor mal bass sound. 8. Set OFF/O N to OFF to turn of f t he r adi o. Changing the AM Band Step- R ate Your radi o’s AM band is preset to tun e in 10 KHz in crements — the standard st ep-ra te for radi o fr equenci es in the United St ates.
