3 KEYS AND FUNCT IONS — Converts sta ndard to metri c mea- surem ents. — Converts met ric to sta ndard mea- surem ents. +/– ( °F °C ) — Changes a dis played numbe r from pos itive to negati ve and vic e versa. Also converts Fahrenhei t to Celsiu s and vice ve rsa.

7 OPERATION T URNING ON THE EC-252 Pre ss ON/C to turn on the ca lculator. Notes: • The cal culator turn s of f automati cally if you do n ot press any key wit hin abo ut 1 1 minutes. • When y ou tu rn the ca lculator of f, previ- ous ent ries are cl eare d.
8 To clear the di splay for a ne w calculat ion, press ON /C twice. 0. appears, th en begin the ne w calcula tion. If yo u pres s an inco rrec t opera tor key ( + , – , × × × × , ÷ ), si mply p ress the c orre ct key and con- tinue yo ur calcul ation.
9 Estimating Cal culat ion Results If you perform a calcu lation that results i n an ov erfl ow err or , you ca n est imate the co r- rect result (to 8 s ignific ant digits ) by follow- ing th ese s teps. 1. Count the number of digits dis played to the l eft of the d ecimal p oint.
