2 FEATURES Your RadioShack EC-2037 10-Digit Dual-Powered Metal Case Desktop Calculator has two power sources so you can use it al- most anywhere. Its b uilt-in solar panel p rovides power when you expose the calc ulator to light. When the surroundi ng light is not bright enough, the supplied inte rnal battery provides the power.

4 OPERATION T URNING THE CALCULATOR ON AND OFF Press ON/C to turn on your calculator , then tilt the disp lay to the be st viewin g angle. To clear a calculation from the display, press ON/C again. If you do not press a key for about 5 minutes, your calcula- tor automatically turns off.
5 CORRECTING ENTRY ERRORS If you enter an incorre ct value, press CE once. Then enter the correct value and conti nue your calculatio n. If you press an incorrect function key ( + , – , × × × × , ÷ ), simply press the correct function key and continue your calculatio n.
6 Estimating Calculation Results If you perform a calculation that results in an overflow error, you can estimate the correct result (to 10 significant digits) by fol- lowing these steps. 1. Count the numb er of digits displayed to the left of the deci- mal point.
7 CALCULATION EXAMPLES You can perform basic calculations (add ition, subtraction, and so on) with this calculator as you would with most other calcula- tors. The following section s include examples of more ad- vanced calculations. Mixed Calculations Example: 256 + 378 – 223 × 2.

14 REPLACING THE BATTERY Although your calculator uses solar power most of the time, the backup battery will eventually become wea k and need replac- ing. If the display speed sl ows down in a dimly-lit room, replace the battery with a RadioShack 389A type button-cell ba ttery.
