It might not be able to duplica te som e of your ori ginal remot e control 's seldom -used fu nc- tions.
5 PREPARATION IN STAL LING B ATTERI ES Your re mote contr ol requi res four A AA batter - ies (n ot su pplie d) fo r pow er. For th e bes t per - formanc e and lo ngest lif e, we re commend RadioShac k alka line batte ries. Cautions: • Use only fr esh batte ries of th e requir ed size and re commende d type.

7 4. P oint the remo te control at your de vice and press PO WER . Y our device should tu rn off (or on, if i t was off). If the remote does not operate your de vice, tr y the other codes l isted in “ Manuf actur er Codes” on P age 17 for y our brand of TV , VCR, cable conv er ter , or CD pla yer .
8 OPERATION 1. Press the device ke y for the device you want to control. 2. P oint the re mote co ntrol toward the device y ou want to cont rol, then press th e desir ed comma nd keys. 3. Repeat St eps 1 and 2 for all oth er devices y o u want to opera te.
9 1. Place your or igina l remote con trol nose- to- nose with the Ra dioShack Smar t Light-Up Remote Control. 2. Hold down P until the r e d li gh t blinks twi ce, then pres s 9 7 5 . The red ligh t blinks twice again. 3. P ress the de vic e ke y ( TV , VCR , CBL , or AU X ) for the mode where you w ant the function to reside.
10 DELETING LEARNED FUNCTIONS FROM SMART KEYS You can dele te lear ned function s from the smart keys ( 1s , 2s , 3s , and 4s ) to ma ke room for other fun ctions. 1. Hold down P until the red lig ht blinks twice. 2. P ress 9 7 6 . The red light blinks twi ce.

12 F AV ORITE CHANNEL SCAN You can us e your rem ote con trol t o scan through u p to 10 of yo ur favo rite ch annels on your TV, VCR, or cable b ox. Note: You can scan channel s on ly fo r on e de- vice (TV , VCR, cable conv erter) at a tim e. You cannot set up a fav orite channel list for another device until you clear the existin g list.
