7 HOOK-AND-LOOP MOUNT ING For some dashb oards, the hoo k-and-loo p tape inc lud ed with your d et ecto r might be best for m ounting. Follow these st eps to use the hook-an d-loop tape. 1. Use a damp c l oth to c l ean t he bot tom of t he det ec- tor and th e dashboa rd.
8 VISOR MOUNTING The sup plied sun v i so r cl ip let s you quickly mount t he detect or on your veh ic le’s sun vi sor . Wa rn i n g: Do not mount the det ector on a visor i f this places the de t ector near the driver’s o r a pass enger ’s head.
9 WINDSHIELD MOUNTING The suppli ed suction- cup mount lets you easily m ount the de tector on the windshiel d. Caution: Do not us e the su ction-cup mou nt i n a vehi cle that has a pl asti c coating on the winds hield designed t o protec t passengers du ring an ac cident .

11 CONNECTING POWER Cautions : • The detect or works in vehi cles that hav e a 12-volt, negati ve-ground ele ctrical syst em. Most vehi cles have thi s type of syst em. If you are n ot sure about your v ehicle, check with you r vehi cle’s dealer .

13 SELECTING THE CITY AND HIGHW A Y MODES In t he ci t y m ode, the detector require s a st ronger X- band sig nal before it sounds an a lert . This eliminat es respons es to most false so urces, such as au tomati c door opene rs and al arm syste m s.
