3 CONNECTING POWER Your radio uses the sup plied AC adapter for po wer and three AA batteries (not supplied) for operation and back-up power. Using AC Power 1. Insert the supplied AC adapter ’s barrel plug into the DC 6V jack at the back of th e radio.
4 Installing Batteries 1. Remove the battery compartment cover at th e bottom of the radio by sliding i t of f in th e direction of the arrow . 2. Install three AA b atteries a s i ndicated b y the polarity symbo ls ( + and –) marked inside the compartment.
5 3. Press WEA THER to turn on the weather broa dcast. 4. Adjust VO LUME to a comfortable listening level. 5. Rotate TUNING to select the weather channel with the best reception.
6 1. T urn VOLUME counterclockwise until it clicks to turn on the power . 2. Hold down WEA THER or CLOCK while inserting the barrel plu g into the DC 6V jack. The power indicator flashes briefly . Whe n it lights steadily , release WEA THER or CLOCK .
7 Setting the Minute 1. Hold down SCROLL to set the minutes. Th e radio announces each minute. 2. When you hear the correct minute, release SCRO LL and press SET once to confirm the entry and e nter the day setting mode. Setting the Day 1. Hold down SCROLL to set the day .
