6 INST ALLING THE B A TTER Y The W eatheradio u ses one 9-v olt battery (not sup plied) for pow er. For the bes t per- forma nce and longes t life, we reco mmend a Radi oShack a lkaline b attery. Cautions: • Use on ly a fresh batte r y of the requi red size and reco mmended type.
7 Follow t hese step s to inst all the ba ttery. 1. If the W eather adio is on , press the top bar to turn it off . 2. Press do w n th e battery compar tmen t co ver an d lift it off in the dire ction of the arro w .
8 4. Rep lac e t he c over . Whe n the Wea ther adio’ s rece ptio n be- comes weak or disto rted, replace th e bat- tery. Warning: Dis pose of an old ba ttery promptly and pro perly. Do not burn or bury it. Cautions: • Alw a ys remo v e an old or we ak batt er y .

10 After you adjust the Weatherad io’s volum e and t uning, turn it o ver and place it on a flat surf ace. To turn off the Weatheradio , press the top bar.
