3 Quick S t art Guide Installation Instructions Congratulations on your purchase of the QLogic ® 9000 Series Stackable Ch assis Switch . This guide describes the steps to install and activate your new switch using a Windows ® workstation.
4 Step 4. Install T ransceivers An SFP transceiver is required for e ach swit ch port that will be connected to a device. ❑ T o install an SFP transceiver , inser t the transceiver into th e switch port and gently pre ss until it snaps in place. The transceiver will fit only one way .
5 Step 7. Connect the W orkstation to the Switch ❑ Connect the CPU0 blade Ethernet port dir ectly to the workstation using an Ethe rnet cable, or indirectly through a switch or hub. The Ethernet port automa tically discovers st raight and cross-over cables.
6 Step 10. Run the Configuration Wizard ❑ Double-click the Enterprise Fabri c Suite 2007 shortcut , or select Enterprise F abric Suite 2007 from St art menu, depending on how you installed it. ❑ The Configuration Wizard tool auto-det ects and configures the switch base d on select ed options and recomm ended settings.
