2 Installation Instructions This Quick Start Guide describes how to in stall and configure y our new QLogic SANbox ® router by following these steps: ❑ Step 1. Verify the packa ge contents. ❑ Step 2. Pre-installation checklis t ❑ Step 3. Mount the router .
3 Step 3. Mount the Router Mount the SANbox 6142 using the shelf, if purchased. Step 4. Install the SFPs An SFP transceiver is required for ea ch of the router’s FC po rts that will be connected to a Fibre Channel device or switch. SFPs are included in the package.

5 Y ou will lose the connectivity of the telnet session at this ti me. If you want to continue usin g the CLI, restart the telnet session with the IP address you just as signed to the management port. Y ou now have the management p ort configured with the ap propriate IP address.
6 If you have an NTP server , enable the NTP Server and enter the NTP Server information. This is located in the GUI Screen on the Information tab when the router is selected in the System T ree view . T o connect to remote SANs, continue with step 9 .
