4 PV500-56 06/12 2. CODES The water heater and burner must be installed in acco rdance with those installa tion regulations in force in the local area where the installation i s to be made. Au thorities hav ing jurisdiction must be consulted before installation is made.
5 PV500-56 06/12 4. COMBUSTION AND VENT ILATION AIR Provisions for adequate combu stion and ventilation air to the mechanical room must be in accordan ce with Section 5.3 “Air for Combustion and Ventilation” of t he late st edition of the National Fuel Gas Code, A NSI Z223.
6 PV500-56 06/12 4.4 Remot e Air Consideration for Combined Remo te Air Ducting When remote air ducting is used, each water heat er burner MUST have separate combustion air intake piping.
7 PV500-56 06/12 6.2 Gas Control Trains - All models incl ude gas control trai ns with the following components: main m anual shutoff valve, two safety shutoff valves and pressure regulator. T hese components may be separate or two or more may be combined in a common hou sing.

BURNER SETUP AND ADJUSTMENT WARNING: The burner supplied w ith this water heater has been fa ctory adjusted to operate on the type gas, gas pressure, manifold pre ssure and firing rate identified on the burner data decal and must be verified after installation and adjusted as re quired to obtain those values.

Check the combustion air, venting a nd gas suppl y complie s with the Section 4, “Combustion and Ventilation Air”, Section 5, “Venting”, and Section 6 “Gas Supply and Piping”.

13 PV500-56 06/12 11. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS At least once a year, a qualified service agency needs to be contracte d for other than routine maintenanc e, including such things as checking the burne r head and checking combustion.
14 PV500-56 06/12 12. TROUBLESHOOTING Condition Solutions 1. Burner motor runs and: No flame after pre-p urge Check 24V feed to airflow switch & after airflow swit ch to control. Fix or replace the airflow switch. If there is no secondar y po wer, then replace the 24V transformer.
