4 Getting star ted Introduc tion Contour 200i Air can be used in a number of different wa ys: • As an AirPla y device for pla ying audio from iT unes on y our computer or an iPod touch, iPhone or iP ad with AirPla y — via y our wireless network. See “Network setup” on pag e 6.

6 Switchi ng bet ween Sleep , Standby and On Contour has three pow er modes, Standby , Sleep and On. In Standby , Contour uses minimal pow er (Status LED is bright red). In Sleep mode, Contour remains connected to the wireless network (once attached) and is waiting for a source to be selected (the Status LED is dimmed red).

8 Stage 2: Connec ting your setup dev ice to Contour In the next setup stag e y ou need to establish a temporar y connection between y our setup device and Contour . In order to achiev e this, y ou need to create a wireless network to connect Contour to an iP od T ouch, iPhone, iPad or laptop.
9 Stage 4: A s signing Contour a unique name If y ou prefer, y ou can change the name that y our network, iT unes and Apple device sees the Contour as. Car r y out the following in the Contour Name Assignment area below to chang e Contour’ s name: 1.

11 Using AirPlay to play audio Introduc tion AirPla y allows y ou to stream audio from an iPod touch, iPhone or iP ad to a single Contour . AirPla y also allows y ou to stream audio from iT unes to one or more Contour devices.
12 Play ing audi o from an iPod t ouch, iPho ne or iPad On y our iPod touch, iPhone or iP ad, ensure y ou are connected to the same wireless network as the Contour .

14 Using the auxiliar y input Conne c ting an aux iliar y de vice Connect the line out or headphone socket of y our auxiliar y device to the Aux In socket on y our Contour using a suitable cable. Selec ti ng the auxilia r y input Press Source until the Status LED is pink.
15 Using Contour Setup Manager Introduc tion Contour features a Setup Manag er . The Setup Manager allows y ou to change v arious Contour settings and view Contour’ s status. Y ou can also use Setup Manager to carr y out a software upgrade if a pre vious upgrade failed and y ou do not have access to the internet.
16 Conne c tion The Connection tab is divided into two main sections, Contour Name Assignment and W ireless Setup. 1. Select ‘Configure Manually’ from the Network drop-down list and select the encr yption type of y our wireless network from the drop-down list belo w .
17 Adva nc ed The Adv anced tab is divided into two main sections, Proxy Ser ver settings and IP address settings. Conf iguring Prox y Se r ver set tings If y our network uses a proxy ser ver to connect to the internet: 1. Tick the Use Proxy Ser ver checkbox.
18 Sta tu s The Status tab displa ys a summar y of Contour’ s software/hardware information and also displa ys information about the state of the wireless connection. Connection Status Indicates if Contour is connected to a wireless network or not. Also indicates the wireless LAN type, i.
19 Upgr ad e The Upgrade tab is only visible w hen you connect to Contour with an Ethernet cable. W e recommend using automatic software updates for y our Contour, w hich are delivered via the Wi-F i connection w hen Contour is in Standby or Sleep mode.
20 Upgrading software manually Manual s of t w are up dates W e recommend that y ou use automatic upgrades to obtain the latest software updates (see abov e). How ever , there ma y be occasions where automatic software updates are not possible due to internet connection problems or if an automatic software upgrade failed for an y reason, e.
21 Sof t w are upgr ade using a dire c tly connected P C If an automatic or manual software upgrade failed and y ou hav e lost network connectivity , you can upload the latest version of software to Contour b y making a direct connection between y our PC and the Ethernet por t on Contour .
22 Updating sof t ware u sing Contour Se tup Manager 1 . Clic k the Up gr ade t ab and t hen click t he Upgrade but ton . 2. The following dialogue box will appear , asking if y ou want to update Contour software via the Ethernet. Click OK to confirm.
