5 T hank you for selecting the new PROFORM ® 6 75 C ROSSTRAINER treadmill. The 675 CROSSTRAINER treadmill offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more effective and enjoyable.
ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call toll-free 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
2. Attach a Wheel (66) to the base of the Uprights (69) with a Wheel Bolt (64) and a Nut (13) as s hown. D o not overtighten the Wheel Bolt; t he Wheel should turn freely. 4. If there is a board (not shown) between the Uprights (69), remove the two b olts attach ing t he board.
7. Attach the Latch Housing (29) to t he le ft U pri gh t (69) with two 3/4” Screws (2). Make sure that the large hole in the Latch Housing is on the side shown. Do not overtighten the Screws. Remove the knob from the pin. Make sure that the collar and the spring are on the pin as shown.
9 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
10 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The revolutionary treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
1 1 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 9). Locate the reset /off c ircuit breaker near the power cord. Make s ure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position.
12 In the man- ual mode, t he upper part of the d isplay can also show the elapsed time, the distance that you have walked or run, the speed of the walking belt, the approximate number of calories you have burned while walking or run- ning, your pace in minutes per mile, or the incline level of the treadmill.
13 HOW TO USE A CROSS TRAINER PROGRAM Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 1 1. Select one of the six cross trainer programs. To select a cross trainer program, press the Interactive Audio Cross Training Programs button re- peatedly until the desired program is selected.
14 Perform the first strength exercise when prompted. When the first strength e xercise segment be- gins (only one indica- tor will flash in the Current Segment column), the walking belt will slow to a stop and the name of the first strength exercise will appear in the display for a few seconds.
15 Press the Start button to start the progr am. A moment after the button is pressed, the tread- mill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the program. Hold the h andrai ls a nd begin walking. Each program is divided into 30 or 50 one-minute segme nts.
A 43 Small Cylinder 2 98 Wire Small Screws 16 THE INFORMATION MODE/DEMO MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill usage information. The information m ode also allows you to select miles or kilometers as the unit of measurement and to turn on and turn off the demo mode.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be per- m anently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
18 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Pivot the frame downward until it is past the latch pin. 2. Hold the metal frame firmly with both hands , and lower it to the floor.
19 TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If you need further assistance, please call the toll-free telephone number on the f ront cover of this manual.
20 c. Locate the Reed Switch (10) and the Magnet (18) on the left side of the Pulley (17). Turn the Pulley until t he Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. M ake sure that the gap between the Magnet and the R eed Switch is about 1/8”. I f necessary, loosen the Screw (100), move the Reed Switch slightly, and then retighten the Screw.
21 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
22 SUGGESTED STRETCHES T he correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1 . Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
