4 The decals shown here have been placed on the tread- mill. If a decal is missing, or if it is not legible, call the toll-free telephone number on the front cover of this man- ual and request a free replacement decal. Apply the decal in the location shown.

ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call toll-free 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials; do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
7 2. Have a second person hold the Bas e (52 ) i n the position shown. Identify the Left Upright (53) (the Right Upright [54] h as a large hole near the lower end). Hold the Left Upright (53) so that the two small holes are on top as shown. Insert two Upright Bolts (2) with two Upright Washers (14) into the base of the Left Upright.
8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (11). Open the included packet of g rease, and apply grease to both sides of both Frame Spacers.
8. See drawing 8a. If there is a guard on the end of the Console Wire, press the indicated tab and re- move the guard with needlenose pliers. Discard the guard. With the help of a second person, hold the Console (91) near the Right Upright (54). Remove the strap from the Wire Harness (39).
12. See the lower drawing. Position the Uprights (53, 54) so that the treadmill Frame (51) is cen- tered between the Uprights. See steps 2, 5, and 6 . Firmly tighten the two Colored Patch Frame Bolts (1) and the four Upright Bolts (2). Be careful not to overtighten the Colored Patch Frame Bolts.
1 1 1 1 14. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included hex key in a secure place. The hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 21). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
13 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The advanced treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can c hange the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
14 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 13). Locate the reset /off c ircuit breaker near the power cord. Make s ure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position.
15 The left side of the display will show the elapsed t ime, the distance that you have walked or run, a nd the incline level of the treadmill. Note: When a program is selected, the display will show the time remaining in the program instead of the elapsed time.
16 H OW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM I nsert the key into the console. S ee HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 14. Select a preset program. To select one of the six preset pro- grams, press the Certified Personal Trainer Programs button re- peatedly.
17 THE INFORMATION MODE T he console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill usage information. The information m ode also allows you to select miles or kilometers as the unit of measurement and to turn on and turn off the demo mode.
18 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: Y ou must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
19 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Next, lower the frame until it is past the latch pin. Then, release the latch knob.
20 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
21 PROBLEM: The walking belt slows when walked on S OLUTION: a . Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 12. b . If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill perfor- mance may decrease and the walking belt may be- come damaged.
22 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
