3 15. The treadmill is capable of high speeds. Adjust the speed in small increments to avoid sudden jumps in speed. 16. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, and un- plug the power cord when the tre admi ll is n ot in use.

5 1 . With the help of a second person, carefully raise the t readmill to the upright position. While a second person tips the treadmill to one side and holds it, insert one of the Extension Legs (103) into the treadmill as shown. Make sure that the Extension Leg is turned so the Warning Decal (20) is on top.
6 5. Make sure that all parts are tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included allen wrench in a safe place. The allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 12). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
7 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PERFORMANT LUBE TM W ALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM ,a high-performance lubricant. I MPORTANT: Never apply silicone spray or other s ubstances to the walking belt or the walking plat- form.
8 CONSOLE DIAGRAM Clip Key Speed Control Displays LED Track Incline Control Note: If there is a thin sheet of clear plastic on t he f ace of the console, remove it. BATTERY INSTALLATION The console requires two "AA" batteries (not in- cluded).
9 I nsert the key fully into the power switch. Inserting the key will not turn on the dis- p lays. The displays will turn on when the ON/RESET button is pressed or when the walking belt is started. Note: If you just installed batteries, the displays will already be on.
10 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be p ermanently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) in order to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.

12 4. SYMPTOM: THE WALKING BELT SLOWS WHEN WALKED ON a . Use only a UL-listed surge protector, rated at 15 amps, with a 14-gauge cord of five feet or less in length. b . If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill performance may decrease and the walking belt may be permanently damaged.
13 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. Remember—these are general guide- lines only. For more detailed exercise information, ob- tain a reputable book or consult your physician.
14 Training Zone Exercise A fter warming up, increase the intensity of your exer- cise until your pulse is in your training zone for 20 to 6 0 minutes. (During the first few weeks of your exer- cise program, do not keep your pulse in your training zone for longer than 20 minutes.
