5 Thank you for selecting the new PRO FO RM ® Z T3 t readmill. The ZT3 treadmill offers a selection of fea- tures designed to make your workouts at home more effective. And when youʼre not exercising, the unique treadmill can be folded up, requiring less than half the f loor space of other treadmills.
6 ASSEMBL Y To hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly re- q uires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove the packing materials; do not dispose o f the pa cki ng mat eri als u ntil a ssem bly i s comp let ed.
7 3. Attach a Wheel (84) to one side of the Base (85) with a 3/8" x 2 1/4" Bolt (8), two Wheel Spacers (83), and a 3/8" Nut (13) as shown. Do not over- tighten the Bolt; the Wheel should turn freely. Attach the other Wheel (84) in the same way.
8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (79). Open the included packet of grease, and apply grease to both sides of both Frame Spacers.
9 7. Have a second person hold the console assem- bly near the Right Upright (78). Connect the wire harness on the console as- sembly to the Upright Wire (74) as shown in the inset drawing. The c onne cto rs sho uld s lid e to- get her ea sil y and sn ap in to pl ace.
10 9. Set the Left Handrail (69) and the Right Handrail (71) on a level surface. Attach the Handrails (69, 71) to the Handrail Bracket (70) with four 1/4" x 1 1/2" Bolts (3) and four 1/4" Nuts (4). See the lower drawing. Make sure that the Nuts sit inside the indi- cated square holes in the Handrails.
1 1 11. Hold the handrail assembly near the console as- sembly. Connect the wire harness extending f rom the handrail assembly to the wire harness extending from the console assembly. See the inset drawing in step 6. The connec tor s sho uld sl ide t oget her e asil y and s nap i nto pla ce.
12 16. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included. Keep the included hex keys in a secure place; one of the hex keys is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 21). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
13 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will cause excessive wear.
14 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incli ne of the t readm ill with t he touch of a button.
15 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
16 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the I ncline increase and decrease buttons or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you p ress one of the Incline buttons, the incline will gradually adjust to the selected incline setting.
17 HOW TO USE A PRESET APPLICATION 1. Insert the ke y into the conso le. See HOW T O TURN ON T HE POWE R on page 1 5. 2. Select a preset application. To select a preset ap- plication, press the Apps button repeatedly until the number of the desired application ap- pears in the display.
18 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill usage information and allows you to select a unit of measurement for the console. You can a lso turn on and turn off the display demo mode. To select the information mode, insert the key into the console while holding down the Stop button.

21 Locate the Re ed Switch (46) a nd the Magnet (4 4) on the left side o f the Pulley (43 ). Turn the Pull ey until the Magnet is ali gned with the Re ed Switch. Mak e sure t hat the gap be tween the Magn et and the Reed Switch is abo ut 1/8 in. (3 mm).
