1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 1 9. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug t he power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the lo- cation of the power switch.

ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not d ispos e of the p ack ing m ater ial s unt il ass embl y is co mpl eted . Note: The underside of the treadmill walking belt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
7 3. Attach a Wheel (45) to each side of the Base (48) with a 3/8" x 2 1/4" Bolt (5), two Wheel Spacers (44), and a 3/8" Nut (47) as shown. Do not overtighten the Bolts; the Wheels should turn freely. 48 45 47 44 44 5 45 44 44 5 47 3 2 .
8 5. See the left inset drawing. Identify the two Frame Spacers (34). Open the included grease packet, and apply grease to both sides of both F rame Spacers.
9 7. Route the Upright Wire (28) through one of the Handrails (18) as shown. A ttach the Handrail (18) to the Right Upright (36) with two 5/16" x 2 1/4" Bolts (20) and two 5/16" S tar Washers (19). Be careful not to pinch the Upright Wire (28).
11. Lower the Uprights (31, 36) as shown. See the inset drawing. Position the Uprights (31, 36) so that the treadmill Frame (74) is cen- tered between the Uprights. Firmly tighten the 3/8" x 2 1/2" Bolts (32) and then the 3/8" x 2 1/4" Bolts (5) on each side of the treadmill.

12 T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or o ther su bstanc es to th e walki ng belt or the walking platform. Such substances will dete- riorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
13 Key Clip CONSO LE DIAG RAM FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers a selection of features designed to make your workouts more effective. When you select the manual mode of the console, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
14 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
15 5. Follow your progress with the track and the displays. T he track —The track represents a distance of 1 /4 mile (400 meters). As you walk or run on the treadmill, the indica- tors around the track will appear in succession until the entire track ap- pears.
16 HOW TO USE A PRESET WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See step 1 on page 14. 2. Select one of the six preset workouts. To select a preset work- out, press the Weight Loss Workouts button .
17 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of treadmill usage information and allows you to select a unit of measurement for the console. You can a lso turn on and turn off the display demo mode. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console.

19 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
20 Locate the Re ed Switch (62) a nd the Magnet (6 7) on the left side o f the Pulley (64 ). Turn the Pull ey until the Magnet is ali gned with the Re ed Switch. Mak e sure t hat the gap be tween the Magn et and the Reed Switch is abo ut 1/8 in. (3 mm).
21 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the key a nd UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
