ASSEMBL Y Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. N ote: The und ersi de o f th e tre admi ll w alki ng b elt is coated with high-performance lubricant.
6 3. Attach the Latch Assembly (82) to the Left Upright (84) with the two Latch Screws (46); start both Latch Screws before tightening either of them. Note: The Latch Screws may be preattached to the Left Upright. 46 84 82 5. Set the Console Base (101) on the Uprights (80, 84).
If you purchase the optional chest pulse sensor (see page 20), follow the steps below to install the receiver included with the chest pulse sensor. 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated Screw (108) and the Access Door (96).
8 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT THE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- icone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
9 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to help you get the most from your workouts. When the manual mode of the console is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the t ouch of a button.
10 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER Plug in the power cord (see page 8). Locate the reset /off circuit breaker near the power cord. Make sure that the circuit breaker is in the reset position. Stand on the foot rails of the treadmill. Find the clip attached to the key (see the drawing on page 9) and slide the clip onto the waistband of your cloth es.
1 1 The left side of the dis- play will show the incline level of the treadmill, the elapsed time, the ap- proximate number of grams of carbs you have burned, and the distance you have walked or run.
12 HOW TO USE A PRESET PROGRAM Insert the key fully into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 10. Select one of the four preset programs. To select one of the four preset programs, press the Programs button re- peatedly.
13 Follow your progress with the display. See step 5 on page 10. Measure your heart rate if desired. See step 6 on page 11. Turn on the fan if desired. See step 7 on page 11. When you are finished exercising, remove the key from the console. When the program has ended, make sure that the incline of the treadmill is at the lowest set- ting.
14 Enter your age. When a heart rate pro- gram is selected, the word “AGE” will appear in the display and the current age setting will begin to flash. If you have already entered your age, simply press the Start button (the program will not start at this time).
15 HOW TO CONNECT THE TREADMILL TO USE IFIT.COM PROGRAMS To use iFIT.com MP3 or CD programs , the treadmill must be connected to your MP3 player, CD player, portable stereo, home stereo, or computer. See pages 15 and 16 for connecting instructions. To use iFIT.
16 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO Note: If your stereo has an unused LINE OUT jack, see instruction A below. If the LINE OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. A. Plug one end of a long 1/8” to RCA stereo audio cable (available at electronics stores) into the input jack on the console.
17 HOW TO CONNECT YOUR VCR Note: If your VCR has an unused AUDIO OUT jack, see instruction A below. If the AUDIO OUT jack is being used, see instruction B. If you have a TV with a built-in VCR, see instruction B. If your VCR is connected to your home stereo, see HOW TO CONNECT YOUR HOME STEREO on page 16.
18 If the speed or incline settings are too high or too low, you can manually override the settings at any time by pressing the Speed or Incline buttons on the console. However, when the next “chirp” is heard, the speed and/or incline will change to the next settings of the program.

20 THE INFORMATION MODE/DEMO MODE The console features an information mode that keeps track of the total number of hours that the treadmill has been operated and the total number of miles that the walking belt has moved.
HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Before folding the treadmill, adjust the incline to the lowest position. If this is not done, the treadmill may be per- manently damaged. Next, unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 pounds (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please call our Customer Service Department toll- free at 1-888-533-1333, Monday through Friday, 6 a.
With the help of a second person, carefully raise the Upright Base (97) as shown. Caref ully pi vot the Hood (123) off. Locate the Reed Switch (22) and the Magnet (19) on the left side of the Pulley (18). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
24 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
25 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch—never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
